Hmmm I have not played chess in years and I would have to get my chess set out to check out to visualise the move. I have never been a good chess player and can rarely plan a strategy until the middle game when some pieces have been lost.
I have also never played a human as I have only every had computer partners and some of the programs I tried were predictable in that they always reacted the same way to the same gambits. When I realised that I sort of stopped playing. I am sure there are much more sophisticated ones on the market these days.
I am also used to playing white so I am not good at defensive moves. So I might go pawn to queen 4 and challenge your pawn.

I'm completely embarrassed to admit here that I used to be quite an avid chess player when I was younger, but to this day I've NEVER been able to comprehend the P-K4 type references. Mind you, I've never tried to learn what they mean either, which is even more slack on my part.... I'm assuming it means Pawn - King 4 or something like that, but what I do after knowing this is beyond me!

P- K4 is a traditional way of referring to moves. Computerised chess use a numbered chessboard and that is where the reference e4 comes from. The lines on the board are alphabet letters and the rows are numbers.
I used to play all my chess on computer so I am move familiar with the alphabet references than the traditional ones. Chess books usually refer to the traditional ones as well unless they are about computer chess.

I might also be mumbling here. Your post is too vague. How would anyone understand what is in this post. Chess is not my game, I am always a loser in any game of chess. But it is a good mind exercise no doubt. Yes, I agree with you, mylot is boring and not having any good thing to excite the mind.

Sorry zandi, but any half-serious chess player would know instantly what I mean. P-K4 is the notation for a chess move. I am saying, I am playing white and my first move is pawn to king 4. The response I'm after is an answering move, to start a game going.
