People say that a dog is mans best friend ,this is a correct statement we have 8 dogs all rescued and they are treated just like part of the family, they each have their own beds their own dishes and their own time together with us , they even have their bed times and time outs.just like our kid the only thing that they do not do is eat at the table with us they have to wait until we are done eating then it is their turn.Do you think that this is crazy,or do you do the same thing?

I think my dog is more a part of my family than I am!
She is the princess of the house, she does whatever she pleases, whenever she pleases.
My mom loves her dearly and my dad sees her like a kid.
The funny thing is that my mom hated dogs before, but when I brought Dixie home, my mom's heart just melted seeing Dixie sleeping so innocently under the table.
It has been never ending pampering ever since for Dixie!

About how much food does it eat in a months time?
My Beagle eats maybe 5 pounds a month only as he
gets a lot of table scraps.

Oh yes. Our Buster, pictured here on his pillow bed, is the child now as our kids are fully grown now. He is treated like a family member and he treats us in the same manner. He is a beagle and also came from the Humane Society. He is roughly about 10 to 12 years old I'd guess.

Buster is a nice looking dog he looks very relaxed in this photo. My kid are going to be leaving for collage in the next couple of years they are 15,16 and 18 and our dogs will hopefully be around for a long time.We have gotten most of our dogs from the human society. I think that is why i treat and go that extra mile for them.People do not realize the pain some of these animals go through. One of my dogs was thrown from a moving car and she is a poodle.

We have a dog at home and he's part of the family. But we don't do things like you do. And I think it is not crazy. It is wonderful. Dogs are very good pets. They love you back really. They are sweet creations.
Just don't really do that thing that you said above--let them eat in you dining table. It is crazy.

Well I have one dog and one cat and I say yes they are a part of my family too. I love them and they are always around. They go to the doctor and need feed and attention just like kids. I know the kids are more imporant than the pets but we love them very much.

Although my dog, Petey, passed away a few years ago he was a very big part of our family just as our cat, Morgana, is now. I've never looked at my pets as mere pets...they are my babies. Their like little furry children. They sleep in my bed, sit on the furniture and company knows that they have to treat them respectfully. As to their eating, Morgana eats when we eat. Not on the dishes, she has her own but we all get our food at the same time.

My Kat family. Miss Kitty Kat, Missy Sissy Kat and Bubba Kat. When i cook, our meal is ready. Actually i just give then samples. Mainly cause if i dont they will stay there and beg. Once they get a taste they leave me alone. When we sleep we go to our bed. Sometimes they get there before i do.
Kitty is Sissy and Bubbas mama. They are Manx, tailless. They are all my babies.

I tried the individual dishes with my dogs (4) and it doesn't work well with them. So outside I fill up a bin with their dry dog food and when I give them scraps and left overs (which makes them feel like Gods) I divy that up between them. 2 of my dogs come indoors because of running off issues and the other two stay outside. My girl sleeps in the bed with me and the boy dog, which is new to being in the house, is slowly coming along with the rules. But he can be stubborn.

I know all about the boy dogs not getting along. Mine are fine one minute and then the oldest male gets this obssessive nature like everything is HIS. ALpha males is what I think they call it exactly. LOL

we have one dog that hates to share anything so we give him time to eat by himself and give him a little more attention.I think that he is that way because 4 of our dogs recently arrived at our home and he is a male and so are they.

I no longer have a dog and honestly, I don't want that responsibility just now. It is a lot to take care of a dog and give it the attention it deserves. I just can't do it. Not to mention that whenever I dog sit I am reminded that having one means I will never be able to sleep through the night again!

I consider my dog a part of my family. I don't go quite this far, though. I don't know what I would do without my dog. I've had her since 2007 and she really has been good company for me. I keep her a bowl of food prepared all the time and she eats whenever she's hungry.
I also consider my horse a part of my family but he stays out in the pasture (lol).
No, I don't think you're a bit crazy. I say to each his own. Kathy.

We have 3 dogs and they are all totally part of the family. I thought we were the only people that put our pups in time-out, I'm glad to hear that you do too! I however can't imagine having 8 of them running around. Are they big dogs, cause ours are and they seem to keep us busy all the time. I don't think I could handle 8 of them.

We pet lovers always make our pets members of the family, alway have and always will. I have no pets of my own as I live alone and do not spend that much time at ome, but I have grandchildren that are dogs. They are members of the family and some even like to sleep with Nana just like the grandkids. They are fed better, as all are eating Science Diet or other vet approved dog food, and one is getting on in years. I think without the love, care and good diet this dog would no longer be with us, he has lived longer than most his breed. Yes we will even morn them as family when they are gone.

It took a while for some of my granddogs to grow on me. I love little puppies, but that stage where they are brats and teenagers is almost as bad as children, but it does not last as long. But give them time and they will worm their way into her heart. They just need to mature, or be around her more.

Absolutely! I love my dog. Mostly big dogs. Shadow is loved majorly by my wife and I. I know that he gets on my nerves at times but I love him. I could not ask for a better dog. He is our puppy. He acts like a big ol' sometimes. When he wants something, he looks at the person he is looking at with those pretty eyes and puppy like face. He is just an awesome dog.

We have two dogs and I would have to say that they're part of the family. I like my dogs they're fun to play with and they're also good companions. I think that's why dogs are such good pets because they can really give you great companionship and they just know things like when you're sad and stuff like that. People don't credit animals for being as smart as they actually are.

Hi Corona I love a dog too,, see my one in My photos,,called Oreo,I do enjoy the company,, the dog is happy,,the only difference here is that we feed the dog at 6,30 am and 4.30 or 5 pm,,it's not always after we are finished with meals,,our lunch and dinner is never a fixed time,, although sooner or later I might lookout for that,,
