child welfare volunteer

i worked as a case manager for children in foster care for several years, but then i was laid off.
in order to fill my time while looking for a job i decided to join the local CASA program. CASA stand for "court appointed special advocate" and we act as the voice of the children in court.
i will finish the training on saturday and am very excited about starting.

I think it is sad that someone who loves her job so much that she is even willing to volunteer for it for free should be laid off. Especially since it is such a socially vital service. Good luck with everything Shel.
