I'm having problems going wireless.

I have a linksys wireless router. it is being used right now for an xboc 360 and Wii. I have a Linksys wireless G network adapter. I've hooked it up to my usb port, the plug and play installs it. Then I put in the cd to install the software. It's not6 working. The wireless icon appears on the bottom tray, but it's not in color and when you roll over it, it says disabled, yet there is nothing you can click to enable it. Also when I reboot, I get an error message access violation at address and it gives a number in module wu5b54gv4.exe. read adress 000 something. What is wrong?
