go to petfinder..they show you many dogs available at different shelters.
you can even look up a particular breed.

yea,i would definetly strongly suggest him picking somewhere where he can view the animal before purchase.

Sorry I deal with Huskies and my breeder has her own website, she will ship but she does allow you to visit her home and her kennels which are very nice and she has her email and phone and address so you know where she is located. Here is the thing I answered you other discussion about buying a dog online you have to research the breeder make sure they are reputable and then and only then would I buy from them. But personally I would want to make sure I at least see the puppy before I by the pup.
here is her site .. Also make sure your friend has done their research on the breed .. Alot of times a person doesn't research the breed and when the dog gets older or developes certain traits the person doesn't want them anymore. So the key to avoiding this partially is research research and more research.
