Following your dreams can be a wonderful thing. Yet, not all dreams are obtainable no matter how hard you may try. You may want to be a singer, yet have no voice. A super basketball player, yet not able to play the game well. I do think that people should have dreams and try to obtain them as best they can, but I believe they also need to know when a dream is unobtainable and when to let the dream continue to be just a dream. Some people lose all their money and ruin their lives chasing dreams that never become a reality. I am living a dream, it may not be the dream I had when I was 19 or 20, but it is my dream now. I am a wife and mother. I do my best to make sure my life is filled with happiness and joy. I may not be lving the exact life I dreamed of, but it is my life and I am happy living it.

Hello my friend riyasam Ji, I do believe in dreams. But I am not that crazy to act un-socially/un-ethically to achieve. A student must dream to get going in flying colors by hard work. A Scientist must dream to invent, useful to humanity, exactly, a house-wife must dream for having bonded relation and bringing-up of family in true sense. I am sure, you are not running away from those responsibilities. As a student, you might have once thougt to become Rani-Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, Or rani-Chennamma, or even Indira-gandhi or Indira Novi, may be Mother Tersa, and you could become simple house-wife. Look around, there are many who could never become mother, having lot of money. So one should find oneself satisfied by one's own work. May God bless You and have a great time.

I haven't figured it out yet weather the things I have achieved were my dreams or just things I wanted. Is saying "I want" equal with "My dream is"? If so, then I could say that most of my dreams have come true. I wanted to study in a certain university, and so it happened... I wanted to work abroad, and so it happened... I wanted to live in a farmhouse and grow my own vegetables and fruit, also almost happening. But the biggest "dream" right now is to get in to a police academy. Yes, I want to become a policewoman! And I am working hard to get there. I have never ever been as active in sport as I am now - doing a lot of heavy lifting and running. I believe that if I want this from the bottom of my heart, my dream will come true.

We’ve heard it said before that a dream is just a dream, but a goal is a dream with a deadline. There’s another difference between the two and this is it: Do you want to do something (dream) or are you willing to do it? Example - I want to lose weight but am I willing to do what it takes to get there?

I guess this dream of mine (becoming a policewoman) has a deadline, but that makes me work even harder...

Yes, I always have the disposition of being positive in life--following my dreams. Some were fulfilled so far and some failed--well at least I learned from my mistakes. BUt there's this one dream I still have to pursue-- one day to write my own novel.

This is such a beautiful discussion mabel. We must all dream - that makes our life worthlife. we get an objective in living. Dreams are beautiful! having said this, we must be wise and justified in choosing the right kinda dream. Like, if i aspire to be an astronaut i would end up losing my heart. Why not know my limitations and chase something i am good at and still love it. And some dreams are good when they are unfulfilled. it adds enigma to life. Loved your thoughts!

There is this quote that I had once read somewhere... If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces Never hesitate to pick one of those pieces and begin again

Right now I am following my dream which is to get married. Of course I've had other dreams in the past but haven't chased those. I like where I am not and am mostly happy. Of course stress is everywhere and I like to stress. I'm happy with the dreams I have and am glad that I found the one for me. As for other dreams past or present, they'll just have to wait. You can chase some dreams or just let them be, but the best thing to do is wait and see! Wow, that rhymed, but what I meant by that was that you can chase some, some you can't obtain, some you can't obtain yet! I appreciate this discussion! Stop by mine sometime!

I am glad i am one of the lucky people who was able to achieve and follow my dream. Since i was a kid I always dreamed of becoming a lawyer and not just an ordinary lawyer. Modesty aside i have achieved that and I can say I have excelled in my field. of course all of these I owe to the Lord without whose help i wouldn't have attained or followed my dream. And i was lucky too to have parents who shared my dream and encouraged me to pursue it. I feel blessed very much and I find happiness in the fact that I am a pillar to my family and a shoulder to lean on.

I always have accomplishable dreams and I try to make them come true one by one.I also have big dreams which few people know about.I can't say that I have followed all my dreams but a big part of them has already come true.I'm the type of person who does almost anything to get what what I want. It's good to have a dream,to have something to look up for.Dreams give meaning to people's lives and makes them wish for the best.

I am also living my dream...to be an author..and now I have three books out on the market and though I still work my regular job the other side is beginning to come into focus! I think if you have a dream about something you want but know you have no talent for.....you should find something that is attainable. But any dream you have will always be a dream if you don't work at it and it takes alot of hard work and perserverance!

I was born with simple dreams. I never really dreamed for spectacular things. I have always been a contented person. All I want is a simple but happy life. God has been good. He gave me more than I ever asked Him. And now my only dream which I often put in prayer is for God to keep the wonderful life He blessed me with.

You have found the magic. Following your dreams is not reality for most of us. But continuing to dream and live in reality is a goal. Without dreams we cannot grow.

i have to admit that i do..sometimes...but i still am chasing for that elusive dream...all of us ahve some kind of a dream that we try to chase maybe in our lifetime....there's nothing wrong with trying to follow your dream...in this stress-filled situation that we are in now..i think that it's better to have a dream...

i am now 19 years old and i am also not sure what exactly is my dream..a dream seems like something quite impossible..i heard of a quote before.. every morning, when we wake up, we can decide whether to get out of bed and chase our dreams or stay in bed and continue dreaming..
