is there really global warming?

There have been many debates over global warming. some people feel that everyone should do our part to counter global warming as the situation is worsening. however there are some people who say that global warming will take place no matter how hard we try to counter it and that the ozone layer is also closing up by itself. so how serious do you think we should treat global warming?

If you notice, people no longer talk about global warming as much, but instead talk about climate change. This is because global warming is an unproven theory, whilst climate change is a fact. Change is what the climate does. Constantly.

Whether you call it global warming or climate change you can't change the truth that the temperature level is increasing every year and glaciers are melting down and we the human beings are responsible for this cause. If we have to leave on this planet we must understand the importance biodiversity is important and we can't take it lightly. The number of trees we are cutting and the animals we are killing every year adds to this problem. So, it would be better to understand the blunders we are committing and take proper action so that we can come out of this mess to the earliest.

yeah i guess climate change will be a more appropriate term than global warming to describe the current weather situation..but i feel that climate change there is probably a lot of reasons to it..many people have different reasoning for it. some say is just nature taking its course, some say is due to the forest burning, some say is those pollution causing it.. oh well..i guess it just depends which side are you on.. but the fact is that everything is changing.

Climate change will never be controlled until someone works out how to stick a thermostat on the sun.

I think we should take this VERY seriously. I could not believe how congress treated the situation soon after the ex vice president's movie came out. It pretty much spelled it out for anyone that cared to listen and take it in for what it was. Look at what we are doing to our planet! Wake up! We are so spoiled. We need to get a grip before it is too late.

I am just like them. I think it is so overpowering and scarey few know where to start. Some are really doing something though and I am glad. I wish I could do more.

yep that is the problem with alot of people too..many people do not know where to start, how to start, afraid to start, dare not start.. but seriously if we dont start, we will never see the results.. some of us may think that there will always be someone who will do something about it, but why dont we be that someone.

i feel that many many people know and are aware that global warming is a very serious matter..but seriously when we ask ourselves, how many of us have actually done something to save the earth, to prevent global warming from worsening.. how many of us bother to take an extra effort? i feel that it is really time we put words into actions..and not just keep saying that it is a serious matter..we really got to do sth.

iam not dure of the global warning but there sure is climatic change, leading to many disasters and we should what we can to prevent it,also there can be no smoke without fire.

yep indeed there can be no smoke without fire... and yep indeed there is climatic change... summer countries are snowing and winter countries are having bright blazing sun... what is happening to this world? what can we do to prevent it? seriously, no one really knows the answer, no one can be 100% sure of what is the reason.. perhaps it is all just nature taking its course..?

Yes, we should help treat global warming or prevent it from worsening. I think it's really getting serious. it might not happen to us now or we might not be the sufferer if it get worse but our future family who will live. We have to save it now coz if it gets worst it might too late in the future to control.

yes global warming is a serious matte and we should all take it seriously.. even though we may not be 100% sure of whether global warming really exist or is the ozone really closing up, i think we should not take any risk.. for our future generations, we must all do our part to save the earth and make the earth a nicer place to live in =)

In my opinion, unless you take away the way scientists and governments are trying to control what we do and don't do, it may not be a choice. Nothing is free anymore, not even the weather. Yep, that is also being controlled in someways. So is our weather truly changing or is it being changed for us, and the results from this tampering is what we have now. Or is it a scam.. who knows for sure.. Another thought, the aligning of the planets which for some only happens between millions or even billions of years apart, so is it that once that happens the earth could totally change as it did in the Ice Age, or a meteor hits the planet. All I can say is ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN, so live, be aware of what you do as apart of taking care of the place you live, EARTH.. be nice to her

yeah i agree that seriously Anything Can Happen.. recently there have been so many reports about all those weird sightings, weird weather change, weird diasters happening, weird things happening... yes we must do our part to take care of the Earth as we are all living in it..if we dont take care of it, who will? we cant wait until the end of the world then we realise what we should have done.

We all know we are facing an increase in temperature every year. If we go by the words of scientists it is called global warming. Global warming is caused due to greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, etc. in the atmosphere. Well, whatever we will do we can't stop the emission of carbon dioxide the main culprit of this effect. But the pace at which we are emitting these greenhouse gases is a matter of concern. This is what our scientists want to tell us - reduce the emission of these gases. As far as ozone layer is concerned there is no hole in it and one can't make a hole in a layer of gas. The fact is that the thickness of the layer has reduced because of CFCs (chloro floro carbons). The CFC gas is produced in from a lots of electronic equipments like refrigerators, photocopy machine, air conditioners, etc. The oxygen molecules keeps on reacting in the upper layer of atmosphere to produce ozone. But the rate at which ozone gas is producing is much lower than its depletion rate which causes a reduction in the thickness of this layer which don't prohibits ultraviolet radiations on reaching the earth which in turn is responsible for several skin diseases and cancer. So, I think we should contribute our share in tackling these problems.

yep those greenhouse gases are indeed causing global warming. .and those greenhouse gases come from various sources like the cars emission, factories emission, forest burning.....and that many of these are very hard to control...like the cars emission..although there is catalytic converter, those vehicles are still producing alot of harmful gases and considering more people are getting cars..although there is those energy saving, those hybrid cars, they are still the minority of the minority.. hence, i feel that we must really take an extra effort to try to save the earth before it is really too late..
