Problem: I am in the process of bleaching my hair. I have all the correct items (developer, bleach, toner, CONDITIONER, etc.) and I've done the process 3 times so far. My hair is like an orangy strawberry blonde color. I started out with really dark hair, so I'm assuming all hair goes through these color stages when bleaching. My question is how long will it take for me to get to that pale yellow color I need to get to before I do toner? My hair is surprisingly not that damaged because Ive basically been swimming in conditioner in between sessions (its still damaged though on the ends, cant avoid it with bleaching). I just want to know how many more times I should expect to do this. Im getting bored.lol

You need to try a light ash blond. I have the same problem, which is that your natural color has red in it. I have never been able to use the golden blond shades because they leave the red in. Actually, right now I am a redhead and I got this color by using a golden blond coloring kit. But, many years ago a teacher at the Vocational Education Center where I went to have my hair colored as a high school student told me that the only way to get rid of the red in my hair was to use the ash colors. Give your hair a few days to recover before you try again. It might not seem damaged but the chemicals are taking their toll on your hair and you don't want to end up with brittle locks that break easily.

If you have naturally dark hair then I imagine it will take a few cycles. I know you really want to be blond but I strongly advise against putting your hair through this process. Although it does not seem too damaged right now, it is likely to get worse over the next few weeks, each time you wash it for example. It may even start to break in places. If you really want you should contact a haircare professional rather than do it yourself.
