Who all has been unemployed before?

When you get your unemployment benefits, how often are you required to apply for jobs? when do you report those job submissions? How long were you unemployed or if you are still now, what have you been doing? I just got laid off from my job in the Aircraft manufacturing industry last week, and I am going to go back to school, they say it is ok if you take night classes or weekend or online courses. I want to become a firefighter though, but the courses for the training are during the morning. They say there is a list of acceptable training so that you wouldn't have to look for a job while keeping unemployment benefits. Lets hear your thoughts!
