Love Chocolates but they do not give us much choice

I have been looking for diabetic chocolates, and when I read it, it says chocolate flavored candy as if the chocolates for diabetics are not made from cocoa or chocolate but chocolate flavored candy, like when they say something tastes like it is made by vanilla but is flavored vanilla.
The next trouble is that even though dark chocolates are best for diabetics, most of the diabetic chocolates are milk chocolates. I mean all we need is less sugar. And we do not have to have them wrapped.
I do not mind a smaller size. I will eat one or two a day at the must, but I just want more choice.

know how to make fudge, I can make it in my head but I do not know how to make chocolate. For one thing with diabetics we have to substitute Splenda or other sweeteners for sugar, and they are more expensive. Then they have to be the correct size, not like when I used to make fudge and those peppermint patties where you could be off a little bit, because I was not worrying. Then I have to buy the equipment.

I really love eating chocolates but I'm scared
because diabetes runs in our family. I don't have it yet
but I'm not throwing caution to the wind. I'm just trying
to be careful, after all prevention is better than cure.
But if there's a chocolate that is healthy to eat, then I
will welcome it with open arms.

I would think that the darker, more bitter chocolates have less sugar in them and would be good for diabetics. Maybe you can check the labels and see how much sugar is actually there. I saw on the news that if chocolate candy uses something other than cocoa butter for its fat content, it has to be labeled chocolate flavored. It still has cocoa powder.

I don't this kind of information but there is a reality their, there is no diabetic chocolate. when we say chocolate it's a sweet. and chocolate is contraindicated for the diabetic person. if you are craving for the chocolate you don't have no choice and you cannot eat chocolate if you are a diabetic person. or else you will see all the results if you will eat chocolates

So```Guys, you want more choices, but maybe that depends on the decisions made by the manufacturers, and the interests or profits are the only things that affect the elements included in products made by those Bosses. Therefore, let them know what the diabetics really need is the most important fact. And if very many of the diabetics are all have the demands that you mentioned above, then, let them know, say it out aboveboard, you'll get it,--get more choices that suits your appetite to chocolates---more dark, and less wrapped.

I think it is okay to try chocolates once in a while. I think there are lots of varieties of chocolates available that we can try once in a while. I am also diabetic and I also cannot take chocolate too often. I like chocolates very much. I take them once in a while. I try to take chocolates of different varieties.

I am also diabetic and a long time ago the diabetic nurse told me to keep away from the diabetic chocolate and jams. The reason is that they act more as a laxative and do more harm than good. Now if I have a bad enough craving for chocolate then I will have some but only in small doses. Diabetic foodstuffs still have artifical sweeteners in them so really they are no different. So if you fancy your chocolate every now and again have it. :)

Although there aren't near the choices in sugar free candy as there are in regular candy, there are some decent choices if you look. They actually make sugar free Tootsie Rolls,Chick-o-Sticks,Russel Stovers,Whitmans,Dove and many more. They are more expensive, but they taste good.
There are lots of other things I wish they made sugar free. The top of my list are Pop Tarts and more flavors of ice cream.
Good luck in your search.

Russell Stover has some delicious sugarless dark chocolate, I've had some and it's very good! I looked up a page for you so you can see what they look like:

If they don't sell in where you are, you can order it over the internet.

We had a big health scare in the England a few months ago.Boots have been selling diabetic chocolate for years so when My friends son was diagnosed with diatbetis I shot into town to treat him as it was just before christmas.I picked up a good selection and paid for them, only to my horror a few days after I had given him the treat, they had a big thing on about this chocolate giving terrible dioreah {runs}The boy already had epilepsy, and a v and s installed in his chest to keep his breathing regular and help to keep the fits to a minimum, plus he is autistic as well.poor child.Apparently there is no such thing as diabetic chocolate in England so you just be careful with what you eat.Take care.xxx
