Dogs - Man's Best Friend?

Hello all, After owning a golden-lab retriever mix for over 2 years at this point (she's now 4 yrs old and a beautiful dog to play with), I began to realize just how cool dogs are. But then, I was nearly bit by a rottweiler the other day (not the prettiest of dogs :D), and have gained a bit of paranoia towards some dogs. I have read up on breeds and wolverine ancestry, but I was wondering if you guys happened to know specific breeds that are: -Attack dogs -Guard dogs -Police dogs (other than German Shepherds) -"Battle" dogs My neighbor has a few dogs that I think MAY be more attack dogs than friendly dogs, but I thought it best to ask you guys.
