We are facing a bleak future because of world
financial crisis. Think twice before buying a car.
But if you badly needed it then try to buy second hand
car and it's more cheaper. It's wise to save more money nowadays.

If you've got money to spare, I think brand news are really better than a second hand. I think that quality is at stake and you really get to use them first hand.
But if you can't afford it, and been doubtful bout the brand new idea, if your heart is at peace with the used car purchase. I think you have to go for it.
Personally I don't like the installment idea, but whatever you and your husband are able to come out about, just support each other! Ciao!

Well, if i were in your shoes, i would go for the brand new one.. yes, it might be hard for you but second hand/used car can bring a lot of trouble.. we've tried buying a second hand car before and it sucked.. i mean, it brought a lot of dilemmas to the family.. we've found out that there are hidden problems in the car that all came out after a year.. yay! dad spent too much for the repairs and stuff.. so if were you, i would settle for the brand new car.. you can get a car loan if you don't have the resources now..

Im sure we all would like to have a new car. But really, they are way overpriced. I would pick a good used one. As soon as they are driven off the lot, the price depreciates quite a bit. I would go for a good demo or lease return. They are usually just as good working order as new but costs much less. Also if you buy new, you will have to finance the car and the finance company will ask for higher insurance than you might be prepared to pay.
Make sure your car has some sort of warranty still and is thoroughly checked. Last year I purchased a car in perfect shape, like new that was a year old. I still had lots of warranty and the price was considerably lower.
The type of vehicle with affect things such as insurance as well. A sports model for example is more expensive to insure than a basic car. So there are lots of things to consider. HOw much you can afford comfortably, and how much you want to pay.

It would depend on your situation. I would but new if I had job security and would not put 100,000 miles a year on the car. But I would also drive it until it would not longer go. A good car has lasted me more than 15 years if well maintained. If you do not maintain you cars well then why spend the money on a new one. If you have small children it is like but really nice furniture, you should get a used one and wait until they are gone to buy a new one, or until they have their own cars

It is foolish and extravagant to buy new, a good used car is almost as good as a new one and the price is substantially less.
Be wise and prudent and go for a good used car.

Hi thina12,
It will all depend on your response to some general questions you have to ask yourself and your husband:
How much can you afford to pay in cash?
If you are to buy the new one, how much you can pay for monthly installments?
For this previous question, are you including insurance, maintenance, gas?
How often will you be using the vehicle? (work, daily use, leisure?)
How may daily miles you'll say you travel?
If you are to buy the used one, for how long you think you can use it?
If you are to buy the used one, what model do you consider buying?
And some other that may come naturally to you. In my own experience, I've had both, and it all comes down to "how long to keep the vehicle before getting another one, if I am to get another one?"
I know that with a used one, I might get lucky even if get advice from somebody that's trustworthy who'll help me decide which one to get and if it's a mechanic, even better. But for that matter, with a used one I will rely on just for not so long trips, having extra maintenance done to it, and get it out of the way when the time is correct.
With a new one, obviously the story is completely different, but you'll just have to go with the car you like and make your own opinion of what the 'experts' (or people you know who have had previous or current experience with that specific brand) have to say about it (gas-mileage, reliability, comfort, security, etc)

well i think that u should go for a new car , im not saying that u should buy ur car out of ur budget , but wht im trying to say is that u can survey for new cars and buy the car which most suits u and whose rate is much closer to ur budget . but if ur budget is too low to buy a brand new car then opt for used one , but be careful while doing this , u should make a car check before the deal .
call a mechanic and tell him to check all parts of car , and if he certifies it right then buy it .best of luck for ur deal

I think, new is always better than the used one.Still if you want used one then make sure that it is in a very good condition and you don't have to invest much in it.check the car carefully from top to bottom.if it has no flaws then you can buy it.also check all the optional things like cd/dvd player,AC,etc so that you get some benefit out of that deal.
Good luck for your deal!!

Hi thina
I suggest you to go for a brand new car. I understand it may be difficult but it would be even more difficult getting a used car with problem coming with it. That will cost you more. Later on deciding to get a brand new car will just be a lost I would say. Maybe you need to rebudget you commitment to make it easy
