Burton or Newsted Who is the best among them?

Who is the Best Bassist that has ever played for Metallica? All the Killer Thumb Thumping and all that! Who would you prefer Burton (RIP Man!) or Newsted?

They are both damn good. Yes RIP Cliff Burton. I think that both Cliff Burton and Jason Newstead made Metallica the head banging band it has become to be today. If I had to make a choice between the 2 of them it would be hard. Even though Cliff was the original bass player, Newstead was as big a part as Cliff. I would have to say Cliff was the best bass player of all time.

Yeah! and they are still in this business for almost 3 decades still kicking... and what happen to those of their contemporaries? Like Dave Mustaine's Mega(what???) LOLS

Oh come on, no need to become sarcastic. Dave Mustaine's Megadeth is still rock solid. Unfortunately for Metallica, they have gone soft while Megadeth is still true to the speed thrash game. If you compare Metallica and Megadeth's album released 2001 onwards, Megadeth's albums are by far better. St. Anger is a disappointment. Very poor drum sound. You cannot underestimate Dave Mustaine just because he was kicked out of Metallica. It's a blessing in disguise.

first off i think you have missed another great bassist rob trujillo metallicas current bass player
but i still think cliff jason and rob are all part of their evolution and each person has fitted with the current style
cliff burton however shines above in terms of greatness :) RIP
