What was the most memorable thing your lover did for you?

In today's busy world, we sometimes pay less attention to our significant other.
I hope this discussion will allow us to take some time off and reflect on how much our partners have done for us, despite being us neglected sometimes, and maybe appreciate them a little bit more.
Let me start off first:
I love the song "8 days a week" by the Beatles. My partner hates the Beatles with a passion!
I remembered I just lost my job and I was feeling really down. I slogged and worked so hard, sometimes at the expense of quality time with my partner, only to be thrown out at the end.
It was devastating. I felt extremely useless. And due to me being depressed, I would often snap at my partner over the simplest of things.
It was a tough time for me, and even a tougher time for my partner. It was like I became a different person. From being cheerful and positive, I became this dark, angry and sad person. It was a change that my partner found hard to cope with.
One day I had a phone call and it was my partner. "We need to talk. Meet me at our usual meeting point."
He sounded really sad, and I thought, "Great job. You lost your job and now you are going to lose him as well"
So I put on my bravest face and met him at a park near my place.
During happier times, we would sit there and talk about our future together, and how much we loved each other. And there I sat, feeling nervous and expecting the worst. I waited and waited...
I heard a guitar strumming behind me.
I turned around and there he was! And he began singing "8 days a week", while playing the guitar, down on one knee.
Yes, he can't sing to save his life and his guitar playing would leave a packed arena empty in a second, but there was my guy...singing a song he hates and playing the guitar with no experience...
"8 days a week, i loooooooooove you, 8 days a week, is not enough to show I care"
I couldn't help it, tears just kept on flowing down...I dropped to my knees and began crying
He hugged me, and said,
"Baby, I know you are going through so much. But I want to let you know that you are still the person am in love with. You may have lost your job, but you will never lose my love. Shout, scream and throw whatever you can at me, but baby, know that I am not going anywhere...I am going to be here with you all the way"
Those words will forever be engraved in my mind.
It would have been so easy for him to walk away then, to leave a wreck like me. To find somebody else with less baggage and who will spend more time with him But he did not. He stayed.
He accepted me for who I am, my ugliness and all. He would even go on his knees and sing a song he hates to his best ability just to put a smile on my face.
There are no other words to describe my partner but perfect.
And this is my most memorable thing that my lover did for me. :)

Well it was 2 weeks into our relationship, and he said he was going to see his brother i was like ok i did not want him to go i missed being with him so much when he was away. I felt lost with out him. When he returned back to my house he had a ford taurus wagon i have 5 kids amazingly that was not enough to scare him away lol. I was like OMG this man bought me a car and after only knowing him for 2 weeks he bought me a car. No man has ever bought me a car barley got any flowers or candy even a card let a lone a freakin car. I was jus speachless i did not know wat to say. he said you dont like it do you. He was like I am sorry I will take it back. I gave him the most passionate kiss i have ever given any one. It mad my knees week. I began to cry I said i loved him he said i love u to that is why i bought the car for you and the kids. We have been together ever since that will be 2 yrs ago in july on the 21st. and we are engaged to be married in April of 2010. I can't want to marry the man of my dreams. And we still have the car it runs great and we love it. The kids like to ride in the back of the wagon since it faces the rear window.

i wouldnt forget the time when we cant be together and all he could do is just follow me and stare at me from a distance just so he could get a glimpse of me. and he texted me and told me to go to the nearest flower pots and there it is he made a paper flower just to let me know that he can see me. watching over me and would do anything just to make sure that im safe.

How sweet.
I cant share anything about me because I don't have a partner that loves me like the one you had. :D But anyway, although the story sounds familiar with me, it touches me and i feel envy that you have that kind of guy who will not left you during those down times. I wish I have that kind of person too. Thanks for sharing your story.

First of all, hello everyone. I think the most memorable thing my lover ever did for me, was the first valentines day together. It all started about one week before Valentines Day. He gave me a single rose everyday for a week leading up to Valentines Day, then on Valentines Day I got 2 dozens of roses, a necklace, a great dinner, and yes even a spa treatment followed by a bathtub full of bubbles, champagne in ice and yes you guessed it rose petals leading to the tub and even some were in the tub. That was the greatest thing that he has ever done for me. It was so romantic.

First that is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. The man I am dating I haven't dated too long so he hasn't gotten the chance to do anything romantic or incredibly memorable. But one of the sweetest things he did was we were sitting with his parents watching tv. Most men I am used to having just put their arm around me or hold my hand, but he laid down then had me lay against him, and he wrapped his arms around me and held my hands in front his parents. So he isn't afraid to show me affection in front of them which I really liked.

Hi there, really you are very lucky to have such a nice person in your life.We usually don`t bother about these small pleasures but these small pleasures really pull you up when you are really down.well my girlfriend is from a very conservative family, she is not allowed to move out of her house after 9 in the evening. It was my birthday last year when she just surprised me .She had hidden greetings and flowers all over my room with help of my mother she had lightened candles all over the room ,a Bryan Adams music and a wonderful dinner which was cooked by herself all .she was with me through out the night against her parents wish.all that experience was awesome .........................
