It happen to me a while ago. I choose a discussion in today's top. When i open it, it has a plenty of reply. Wow, almost all of them replied in long sentences and they really good in english. So, i felt so shame and decide to choose another discussion. I am afraid to join there because i am not good in english and there's a possibility that i could not illustrate a good answer.

i've never been shy to join a discussion because i can write in english. however, when i post a discussion and no one answers, now that's embarassing. but it's okay...

hmm.. now that you've mentioned it I think yeah, it is a little embarassing to post a discussion and then get zero reponse. The best thing to do is to just think of another topic and post again! :D And hopefully you'll be able to catch the attention of other mylotters. I'm new here in mylot and so far Im amazed at how quickly people respond to discussions and interact which other. That's just great. ;D

when i was new here, i have some drawback and feeling shy to join in discussions, especially if i know that the original poster is one coming in an english country. but even if i cannot converse well in english, offline, i look at mylot as something that makes me develop my english.

You should not be shy to response to any discussions here be it a top discussions or otherwise, make an effort to response. We are all not perfect in our english, even the native speakers have grammatical errors. We are not competing with one another. As long as you can express yourself well, and be understood then you should go ahead responding to discussions. Otherwise you can never improve.

i'm sorry you feel this way. i think one of the best things about this site is that there are people from all over the world, and they all have different points of view.
i think you should share yours in whatever topic you choose.
please don't be shy, just say what you think. it doesn't matter if your english is good or not.

Hi there! You shouldn't feel that way. We're all here to have fun and learn. And there's really no right or wrong response to a discussion. So just go ahead and share what you think in whatever topic that you find interesting. Don't be shy or be shameful coz nobody here will judge you. Think of it as an opportunity for you to practice your english or improve how you construct your thoughts into words. Hope I was able to cheer you up. Keep myLotting! ;D

No not at all. I think that's one good thing about it being anonymous and through the internet. You aren't sitting face to face with these people and so it makes it easier to really speak your mind. I'm definitely not a shy person. I am the type that will tell you what I think and then if your hate me oh well... I apologize and move on.
Who cares what people think. You don't know them right? This is an international site. If you go through some of the posts, you'll definitely see that proper english is not mandatory. As long as you can get your point across, then that's all that matters. I think you'll find that there aren't very many unwelcoming members on here. Most of them can usually look past a grammatical error or two. Happy mylotting!!
