Line Art over Colored?

I have been an artist and art critic for many years, and in my personal opinion, line art is more interesting than colored art, in the sense that with line art, you can clearly see all of the details done by the artist. With colored art, it is much more difficult, but on the other hand, coloring is an art in itself. I was wondering if I could get some input on this topic, and see whether or not Line Art can compete with colored art. Thank you for your time.

I have been doing line art and I think it is good on its own. Colored art is a different story and should not be compared to line art. Think if it as different disciplines. Line art still has its drawbacks like limited depth perception and monotony, but this doesn't make it an inferior technique.

I have also been an artist for most of my life and I too prefer line art, but I also enjoy color sometimes, but it depends on what type of art it is if its sketch art then its better to leave it without color so you can see all the details in the lines, but if its the kind of art thats just straight clear lines sometimes color can inhance the work I drew my current avatar pic, and you can see a larger version of it at the bottem of my profile its a little rough because I drew it on my computer, so it dose not show the best of my abillty but its not bad, tell me what you think.

I love line art. All my drawings used to be just done in lines, because I spent many years as a silk-screen printer, doing my own artwork. The artwork had to be translated into stencils for the screen-making, so I drew everything in lines! You do have to have a very steady hand though!
