A few months ago when I was still not know what are the things that I have to be aware of about our pc, a guy technician made a good money from us. And now I am so into this reformatting thing, why? because this F@@@k technician told us that we have to reformat our pc and we of course get a second opinion to other people and we had our pc reformat to that technician. Our biggest mistake was, we let him get our cpu with a big trust on him and what happened? he NEVER REFORMAT it, he JUST HIDE THINGS to look like it was reformatted. You can't blame us trusting him because his soft spoken and gentleman guy and we were screwed up BIG TIME!We found out that even the company that he has been working at was also screwed by him and he his now showing up. LESSON LEARNED don't be lazy to look after your cpu when it is send to a technician or repair shop.

Hi there mayrose! Good day to you! A lot of technicians are unfortunately like what you have said. I have an experience in the past that a certain technician gets some hardware parts of his customer if his customer is unsuspectful and does not know things about computer parts. What he does is get those parts and exchange it with other low quality parts and the consumer does not even know. Also, my friend told me that it happened to him! And what is shocking about his story is that the technician is actually his relative! It is a sad thing that those things are happening. Maybe because of money why they do that but what the hell? They can earn good money using good doings why do those things right? Well, it is a lesson for us mayrose that we should not trust people that much if we do not really know them and even though we really know them, we should somewhat be careful also. Happy myLotting mayrose! :)

I am quite glad that I never had to show my PC to such technicians because now I can keep good health of my PC myself. But once was also tricked like you. When I was having a new PC one day when I was booting it up, it started to make funny noises and never booted up. So I called a local technician to fix it up. What he did was he open my CPU box, plugged out the RAM from the mother board and then replugged it back. And my PC came to life again. So far so good. But then he charged me 10$ for just touching my PC. I was so shocked that for such a small task he charged me so much. From that day I made a point to learn many things about computers so that in future I would never need any help of these looters. And till date I have never called any of them.

They're really greedy people and abusive. Innocent people was been taken for granted. You can only find few people who is honest and trustworthy. I think that technician who fooled you is not that expert in troubleshooting. It's easy to reformat, why didn't he reformat it? In reformatting, the drivers should be present. In absence of these, it would still need to be downloaded from the Internet. You know what, as long as you have the OS cd, you can reformat your PC. Anyway, we should really always learned from our mistakes.

This is a big reason why I am thankful I can prefer all my computer repairs myself. There are some horrible stories out there of people doing shifty jobs, I feel much safer doing everything myself when possible. Sorry to hear about your story.
