Which do you prefer? Pens or ballpoint pens?

In my eyes, using a good pen to write is really cool. What a pen to a writer is a sword to a cavalier. A pen will be your patner for many years, but as for a ball pen, you will have to throw it away when its ink runs out. Even you can replace the mine which has run out with a full one to keep your ballpoint pen in use for a longer time, but the penholder of the ballpoint pen is never as fine as a pen. Though I prefer to us a pen, but the problem is that my handwriting with a pen is very bad. So I am now using ballpoint pens. What do you think of pens and ballpoint pens? Which do you often use?
