hi mylotters, i have been out for quite a time. i just want to share with you what happened to me for the past few days. a week back wednesday i got fever, i took tempra a paracetamol for fever. i got a feeling that i am having UTI or urinary tract infection because i have difficulty in urinating as well as flank pains at my lower back. the fever is on and off with chills, the chills are becoming unbearable to the extent that it lasts for more than an hour of unstoppable body chills. there i decided to call my brother and sister and bring me to the nearest hospital. i was advised to be confined so that the chills and fever be monitored. they call the doctor whom used to administer medicines on me during my last migraine attack. i got a lot of allergens to medicines. naproxen, mefenamic acid, ibuprofen, analgesic, paracetamol (except Tempra) to name some. I also told the health professionals that i have took cotrimozaxole two weeks back for UTI also and otitis externa. with all that information i was advised to have my KUB ultrasound, series of blood and urine tests and all that. Friday the morning the doctor administered Bactrim Forte for the UTI and i know that antibiotic like bactrim should be taken in one week to see the affect. Friday afternoon the doctor called the nurse and asked my sister to wait for the doctor's call. the doctor talked to my sister, she said that she wants to take aggressive treatment on me because my fever is going up and down as well as the chills. the doctor said that she wanted to administer Cirpobay IV as soon as possible BUT we should make an ICU ready if in case something worst will happen to me. she recommended a hospital for that. after the conversation my sister called the hospital and inquired, the rate of the ICU is around $ 600 to 700 per day does not include the room and other charges. my sister talked to me and told me the case i immediately say NO to the DOCTOR'S offer. at first i said my problem is i am only having fever and chills and the cause is the UTI and i wonder how come she would want me to go to a new hospital with ICU. hearing the word ICU is very morbid for me because i know patients being treated there are the most serious cases. i am not on that extend. immediately after talking to the doctor i said i want to go home. i signed a waiver. the rest is all history. my story is so horrible. i wonder why some members of the medical field are like that. as i analyze it the doctor wants to earn more, maybe she will get money if she let me in at that hospital. worst i have just taken the bactrim once it means that the affect of the medicine is not yet taking action. oh my God i told myself i will never go to that doctor again. she might think that i am not making my research. please share your comments.

Hello roselyn I've been shocked after reading your topic. I thought that case of yours were only happening here in our country. Sadly, it happened also there in your place. We'll you can't really say all doctors are all good in all their intentions of their patients. Instead of helping them, they(some doctors) make some actions towards their patients for only their own interests. In your case, it was so obvious your doctor was interested more on your money rather than your health. Just imagine that, from chilling fever and some medications to admitting to another hospital's ICU? That was foolish. I think that doctor landed on a wrong guy(you) who knew his strategy...how pity to those patients who never know this anomalous way of some doctors...? What a pity!
