It is very bad now. Its already 17th and have not got the March's payment requested. I think so it is implied ciao will not pay that also to us. It is very bad from their part. it is hard earned money. Now Asians can't login. Even when we were active, we requested the money, we did not get it.
Is there anyone from US,UK, Canada etc who have already got paid for March in Ciao?

I am a member of Ciao UK. But they appear to operate an unofficial age bar that kicks in at 50! They owed me about £40 but reorganised themselves so that money disappeared. I know that some folk think that Ciao is wonderful. I am afraid that I am not one of them. I do hope that you don't have a lot of money with them. Keep pushing them for payment and then close your account would seem to be the sensible move if they don't pay at all now. Funny how only 4 months ago they paid a dollar a review!

Sorry pikey hun I had a bit of a typo in my above post "I know people on the US site in their 60s who've been writing there for years so the age bar thing is not just true. I get dozens of survey requests a week and don't bother with any of them." - I meant to say the UK say as the US site has been operational for barely a year now. The survey side of the UK site is a big joke but I rarely see any discussions here in relation to them - mostly about the US site and then only the review writing side of it - I can imagine there would be lots of griping going on here if the US site had surveys too.x

Ciao state in the FAQs, "Pay-outs are made once a month to all Ciao members who have requested one or more payments in the course of that month. It may, therefore, take up to five weeks for the requested credit to be transferred to your PayPal account."
Additionally, Ciao do check that their Terms have not been violated before paying and I have heard of a number of people who, on requesting payment, have found their payments refused or reduced because of this. There also seem to be a large number of people, apparently mostly Asians, who have had their accounts removed because of violations. It is not true that 'Asians can't log in' - this only applies to people who Ciao have terminated for good reasons.
Ciao are a reputable company and do pay reliably.

i have read that ciao pay in bulk and they even set an example that if you request on the 1st to 31st of april, you will receive your payment on may... does it mean that they change their style on paying their memberS??

I failed to understand how a member can be scam. We are using internet and the service provider are taking money for the connection. For my case I am the user of BSNL, a body of India Govt. I don't know their protocol and I have no idea about IP. Could you help me.

"Ciao are a reputable company and do pay reliably." I am afraid that I have to say that has not been my experience. I don't qualify for any surveys since I turned 50 and the £40 that I did have "disappeared" in a shake up never to be seen. However, others may find differently.

I am joined with that site but do not go there to earn anything anymore. I hate the way they have changed things. Alot of people are complaining about them now.

As you know I'm based in the UK - I haven't received payment but I'm not concerned about it as I there have been huge changes on the site and it will a week or so before normality returns (if we're lucky) - it could take longer. Unfortunately it seems you're from a country which most people seem to think has been banned - Ciao's announcement page says:
"Restricted Access to Ciao
Dear members,
Due to the high level of abuse on the site including plagiarism, spamming of members, and revenge ratings, Ciao.com has decided to start restricting membership to certain countries. We have tried to avoid this outcome, but the number of violations has become too great. Although we realize not all members from the now-banned countries were responsible for these problems, and in fact there were many excellent members from these regions, we have found this to be the best and only remaining way to effectively manage the situation.
Members from these banned countries who are otherwise in good standing will still receive any money owed to them. If they have yet to make a payment request, they can contact us at info@ciao.com and we will make the request for them.
We will continue to delete plagiarized and abusive content from the site; please send us abuse reports if you find evidence of a violation of our Terms and Conditions.
Thank you.
– The Ciao Community Team"
Now if you are 100% sure you didn't break any rules of the site such as giving high ratings to bad reviews or low ratings to good reviews or have a huge friends list just to get return high ratings or writing sub standard reviews not in a decent enough standard of English (as these are NOT helpful to a potential consumer) then you should be ok to get your money from Ciao when they get around to sorting out the payments. BUT they have a lot of members to go through before making payments so be patient. I'm sure dozens of members will start the same old discussions again when they do eventually make payment - again it's happening here. I have seen countless discussions started on the same subject when people should check that a similar discussion does not already exist on the site. Sadly this is one of the reasons this site is also ridiculed outside of here... People just think about starting discussions over and over on the same subject without checking that the discussion already exists and that's actually against this sites terms as well (according to my interpretation of the rules anyway)...

Well, i am moving on... i don't know if we will ever get paid or if caio will still allow us to access our account... but whatever happens... i am moving on... i will just try to concentrate on the other sites that i enjoy like mylot and pickjack...
No use to crying over spilled milk... i was honest in ciao... and i tried my best to write quality responses... but if they do not want my contributions anymore... then i will just move on... instead of whine and whine and whine...

Yes, we don't get our payment, let us be disappointed. If Ciao insists doing like this, others won't do it, it will fall down. I feel bad because I spend so much time on it, and wrote reviews by myself, while we can't get our reward, No man will trust Ciao unless it pay us first. Bad....

Hi All, I am also worried about the payments from CIAO. But hoping that this will not happen and they will clear the doubts of all soon. Its almost more than two weeks that many people are not able to log in and facing issues. Lets hope for the best and wait for the news or confirmations from CIAO.
