Hi,everyone!
I have been thinking about this for a while. One of my teacher once told me that people's dreams usully become smaller and smaller as they are growing up because they are becoming aware of the hardship of life.I think it is right for many people.I still remember that my first dream was to become a scientist even I didn't know anything about scientists at all! Then, time passes, and I went to school and learned that it is really difficult for people to become an excellent scientist.I think it is the awareness that forced me to change my dream.I have changed my dream many times for different reasons, including the one I have mentioned.Maybe some of us still keep their dream formed in their childhood and are still working on it.These people are really admirable.Mylotters, how about you?
Wish good luck for everyone.

My first dream is to be a writer of fairy tales, as great as Anderson. Now the dream has changed a little bit. I want to be a writer, but write what I want to write, not just fairy tales. Haha. Though now I am not majoring in writing or languist or something related to writing, I still believe I can become a writer sooner or later.

The more you know and experience, the more likely you will become a writer. Whatever you study is good and helpful to meeting goals.

Hi,Flowfire
I think your dream is great. To be a good writer, you will need to know and to experience more.Only by this way can one become a good enough writer no matter what he writes about.Well,if you keep working it,you will realize it of course.
Wish you good luck on your way to become a writer,I am looking forward to seeing it.

When I was a child I've dreamed about being a teacher. I had a teacher way back when I was in grade school whom I admired alot. I felt like I want to be like her someday :) Now, I've already finished college..and I'm proud to say that I really do pursued my dream. Graduated as an elementary teacher. xD Although before I was having doubts and was still confused on what degree to take up. I still ended up following my childhood dream xD I know it's simple but yet, I've achieved it :)
Happ mylotting :)

Most of my childhood dreams are long gone!
Things like being a baseball player -- now I barely even watch the game let alone play it.
I have trouble enough remember the dreams I had 20 hours ago let alone what I really wanted back as a child.
There is still one that I do hold on to, which is to have the ability to help as many people in the world that I can!

What dream you are talking about? Is it a night sleep dream or day dream or a dream career or what?
If you are talking about night sleep dream then I must tell you that I only remember one dream in my life and that was when I was only 10-12 years old. I saw a girl in a field where I was playing cricket game. The ball went passed her and I wwnet to grab the ball to continue the game but as soon as I got nearer to that girl, she held my legs and hanged me upside down and was laughing like anything. She was an angel and the laugh was also very innocent.
I didn't remember what happened next but I couldn't understand the meaning of it too!

No, I can not remember the dream during my childhood. It is such a long time since then. Even now, I may not remember some dreams I just had. It is really interesting to have dreams. All kinds of dreams. Some make us happy. Some make us sacred.

Some of my dreams I still work on, some came true, and some were totally out of reach. I think we get new dreams that fit our life as we grow and mature. Sometimes we sadly have to give them up.

Yes, my childhood dreams is still vivid in my mind until now.
But there are dreams that are not worth to pursue because some are
impossible to achieve. I always remember those dreams with fondness.
They are a child's dreams and the child is already grown up.

As far as I can remember I wanted to become an engineer or an architect and that is because I want to build magnificent buildings. But then when I entered college I realized that my passion is in the Social Sciences, so I decided to pursue a degree in the said branch of learning.
And I can say that so far I am very happy and contented.
Happy MyLotting!

Haha, that's so true...It isn't as easy as it sound when people urge you to FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS...-.- These people obviously think that's all there is to it. Well what do we have here? You wanted to become a scientist? That's cool man because i love science and i understand your dream so well...^_^ My dream when i was small, was to be a doctor...And the thing i realize about dreams is that, there was noone to guide you through till the end...There wereonly people encouraging you that you'd be able to do it if you could..I know i could have if i really wanted to, but i was a kid and i didn't know any better and what more, i didn't know HOW i was to get from HERE to THERE in terms of qualifications and that sort of technical stuff which most motivators FAIL to mention about. haha. Now i am pursuing a diploma in chemicals and pharmaceuticals. I had become interested in medicine, biology, chemistry and just science when i was in high school...Dealing with chemicals had never been more thrilling than anything else i had experienced. ^_^ I hope you find your 'present dream'..lol..

Your response is always great. In fact,my dream at present has been formed when I was in high school.I am now learning Computer Science, why I choose this course is that I want to become a Computer Scientist.Still a scientist, hahaha.Well,I quite agree with you that there are only people encouraging you that you'd be able to do it if you could....
Thanks for responding and have a nice day.

I agree that your dreams change from when you were a child to an adult. When I was younger I wanted to be an astronaut or a veterinarian. I discovered as I got older, I'm terrified of heights, so astronaut was not for me. I am also more sensitive about animals and realized, as much as I want to help them, if I ever had to put an animal to sleep, no matter what kind of pain they were in, I just didn't think I would ever be able to do it. So my dreams have changed continuously over the years. It's wonderful to have dreams as a child, but then reality kicks in and you realize, that it is just a childish dream or fancy.
