Ted Failon family tragedy: Obstruction of Justice Issue

The tragedy of Ted Failon's family is sad to hear. There were even issues about the abuse of power by the authorities when they try to arrest Pam (Trina's sister) as well as the driver and other household members. This is because they cleaned the area before the policemen came, in which is being called as obstruction of justice. According to family, the area was cleaned because they don't want the youngest child of Ted to see it. Additionally, the driver admitted that he also cleaned the vehicle that has been used to drive Trina to the hospital. He said he did it without Ted telling him so. Apparently, the family is very sure that it is a suicide so they think it's just ok that the area will be cleaned. In your thoughts, do you think Ted and others really violated the law of Obstruction of justice? If the same thing will happen to you (hopefully not), will you allow the area to be cleaned before you call the police? No hurting words please.

Actually, it is a little FISHY. In shows like CSI, if you're innocent you call the cops right away without touching anything from the crime scene. It makes the crime solving easier because all the evidence is there. If they are really worried about the little daughter of Ted, they could have taken the daughter away from there. Some place where news about her mother won't reach her. If they're really innocent, why clean everything as soon as they can without notifying anyone? Are they hiding something from someone? If I'm a police, I'm also going to be mad at them. They're not cooperating at all. THAT is FISHY.

That is true. why would they be more concerned with cleaning the area than calling the police immediately. of course you will not be much concerned about cleanliness, you will not dare touch the area cause you will be afraid to touch the blood or clean the area of the blood. it is really fishy. but i don't want to see faily to be guilty. but it gives the law enforcers reason to be suspicious as to why they cleaned the area.

Even assuming it was a murder, hence a case of obstruction of justice because they cleaned the scene, that still doesn't justify the warrantless arrests made on Ted Failon's housemaids and driver. In a democratic country like ours, were civil rights are supposed to be respected, arrests cannot be done unless there is a warrant for the arrest. In this case, the arrests made were without any warrant. The only instance where a warrantless arrest can be made is when the criminal is caught in the act of committing the crime. In the case at hand, the police never saw the act of cleaning itself. I am disturbed by the reckless manner by which the police officers handled their job. First, the police arrested them without any warrant. Second, they were not informed of their rights.

I guess if the police did acted like they were supposed to do in their investigation I could have been convinced by the allegations they were trying to accused the whole family. I was just kid of turned off with the way they executed the investigation. When they started to forcibly arrest one by one each of the family members I find the process rather hash already. They even arrested the one that tried to stop others from being taken forcibly. I think that was not supposed to be done by the police in the first place. If they cannot take them then they should have given them more time.

Perhaps they're sure that there is no foul play that was why they cleaned up. They should not be arrested but made to explain. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. All the best.

In shows like CSI, cleaning evidence is a sign that SOMEONE in the household is guilty of committing a crime. It is also strange why a gunshot in a house of TEN FREAKING people is not heard at all. Ted is hiding something and his Television Network is in cahoots in hiding it.

I think cleaning the blood was the wrong move on Failon's family even though it was to protect the youngest child to see the scene but they shouldn't have cleaned it because when they did that it aroused more suspicion for the authorities. For me though I think Ted failon is innocent. It's sad to see how some police authorities acted brutally on the arrest of the household members even if they were suspects as long as there is no warrant the police should not have apprehended the members so brutally. I saw the news in the tv and it's disheartening to see how brutally they treated the members of the family because i saw that the members were just begging to be at their sister's side because she is almost dying and was willing to cooperate with the police just as long at that time they were with their sister until their last breath. There was a wrong move in the failon family especially cleaning the crime scene but the police are at fault too, there are human rights as well they should very well know that above anyone else.

I don't know it is an obstruction of Justice already when you try to clean the blood of the victim when in the first place nobody filed the case with in the family. The police authorities in the Philippines sometimes can be very confusing. I have no more to say, because I might say bad words here against law enforcers.
