Are you a Teacher's pet?

I have seen many students who roam around the teachers all the time and do all the work they want them to do, like one of their servants who don't even get paid for what they are doing for them. Students do this alot nowadays in order to become a Teacher's Pet and secure some more marks from the particular teacher's subject accordingly.
I find it very insane that some student's even try to do that and give all the self-respect away like this or try to manipulate things like this. So what do you people think about it, Are you a One Too?

They call me teachers pet when I was in high school. That's because I excel in our computer classes and my teachers asked me to do their spreadsheets/word files ;). Well, they pay me hahahaha... Now at work, I'm called "the lightning" cause I do the reports in a flash xD

Yes, i also think that Hard work and studying properly to gain or secure good marks is the better way to succeed in life and not by becoming a teacher's pet as we are studying for ourselves only, so we have to study properly to become somebody and not by a shortcut method like these.

ok for one thing what do you mean self respect? because no one else likes them for being a "teachers pet" do you actually talk to these students who do that? so you most likely don't know the real story so how do you know that they are doing it for extra credit or whatever maybe they like the teacher, and maybe the teacher is there role model, no matter what age you are having a role model is important, i never was a "teachers pet" but there were teachers that i liked and would do favors for. my parents weren't all that great of parents so i looked to my role models for guidance.

Nice response out there. I have seen those Teacher's pets get more marks in the Internal Accessments which is done by the teachers, they do this even for the worst student of the class if he or she does their work. Many teachers become partial towards the students and choose there favourites thereby. It's All Wrong in this sense.

I admit there are some who do it for such reasons, but not all. Personally, I've been called a "teacher's pet" quite a few times but I never did it out of hypocrisy or for free marks or whatever. All I do is being friendly with them, and if they ask me to do something for them nicely then I do it, but I DON'T do something that was told to me in an 'ordering' tone when I'm just helping.
Simply, I do it out of respect, I respect my teachers thus have friendly relations with them, I like carrying their stuff for them sometimes but I actually do that for students too, I do it when they're carrying too much weight because I'm generally stronger than the other girls/teachers (I'm in an all girls' school) and can handle that weight better so I help, not because I want to say "hey I carry your heavy stuff so give me marks!" - that's just stupid. And also, I kinda feel sorry for them too. Because of the way most of the students treat them like dirt, if I actually liked the teacher's person and saw no real cause for such hideous treatment then I become extra nice to them than I do others; trying to make them feel better and not all-so-bad because of how they're disrespected in class.
So, you might be right about some doing it for marks or whatever else they might be after, but there are those who do it with pure intentions and not such hypocritical schemes. You never know, you might be misjudging someone and even going to the point of 'hating' them for something as stupid as this when they're actually entirely innocent!
My advice is: don't be judgmental. If you're having negative thoughts about someone, before you start badmouthing them and accusing them of things they might be innocent of, you should actually try to understand the situation better, get to know the reasons or even demand an honest reply from the student(s) themselves, rather than spreading rumors or whatever in an unjustifiable manner without concrete evidence of their true intentions other than what you "think"

yes i too hate such students who wage their tails in front of teachers. well i m not one of these students , i have my own identity in my class , that i m a good boy , but i m not a dog of teachers. i like to secure marks on the basis of my hard work and not on basis of impressing teachers. Many people sell them selfs not only in school but every where , in every work . Nowadays this can also be seen in offices, a person who hates u talks to u nicely so that he can get some profit out of that . these people r really insane.

Yes, You are right my friend, i have even seen that one of my enemies used it for taking revenge from me by using the teacher against me as the students informs the teacher about what all was going on in the school and therefor he comment about me also and made fake rumours about me and that teacher started behaving rudely with me and i felt really weird about it in the starting, then after somedays i got to know about it that what actually happened.
I hate these kinda students.

In my opinion, the students who help the teacher aren't the pets of the teacher.the student help the teacher mainly is the reason that the student like the teacher, taht is to say,the teacher is a good teacher in the students heart. in fact , when i was a student,i hold the same opinion, but now ,i change my opinion! the student and the teacher are friends, not enemies.

Being a teacher's pet is not a bad thing.I dont understtand your"self-respect".Doing things for a teacher is good.you may gain working experience at school at the same time.working hard to get good marks is important.not by pleasing his teacher.but in fact there is always someone who does things only to please his teacher.I don't like the latter.

I've never wanted to be one of them. I will never get close to a teacher just to have those desirable grades. Working hard for them is better than doing things just to please your teacher for the sake of a high mark. I offer some help to them whenever I see that they needed some assist in carrying their paraphernalias. I run errands when they ask me a favor or so. I respect them for they deserves to be. My grades had been good all the way and I'm proud to say that, that is because of my perseverance and not by always sticking beside my teachers.

lol, perhaps it's because they are trying to apprach the Grown-ups in this real world without students nature. That's simple.
To be frank, I was not. The teachers didn't feel happy about student like me, simply because I didn't roam around them or sent them gifts or glove money (ways of apple-polish others in China) So I was always put to the last group of the class. lol. But it doesn't matter me. Anyway, if someone want to be their pet, it's just his/her business.
BTW, get paid means a lot not only the money but also other stuff. lol
