wordpress vs blogspot

I have been trying to start my blog. I am using a wordpress platform and it is giving me a hard time to modify widgets and other themes. Could someone help me? Could you earn money by using the default account using wordpress? or do I have to pay to have my own domain?

Hi! If you want to earn from your blog, you can't do it under the free-hosting in Wordpress. You have to get your own domain.
If you want free hosting and at the same time have an opportunity to earn (to be able to pay for your own domain in the future), it's better to do it in blogger.
But if you are really serious in wanting to earn, I suggest you get your domain and hosting upfront.

Thanks for the response. I have signed up with 000webhost but I couldn't download the wordpress installer or the fantistico installer. Do i really need them. Please share your thoughts. Thanks

If you want to download from wordpress.org. Actually you don't need that fantastico staff. My hosting also provide fantastico function but they only give the 2.7 version of wordpress.
Since version 2.8 just launch, I suggest you download version 2.7.1 first. Version 2.8 is not stable just yet. A lot of people facing problem using it right now including me.
To download wordpress, here is 1 way you can do. I suggest you download Filezilla client. It can be download for free at filehippo.com.
You can access your host from filezilla. Download your wordpress into your computer hardware. Unzip it (its come with zip file)then upload to your filezilla under public_html/wordpress (or you can name it as you like).
After that, you browse your address (www.sample.com - if you use this domain for your blog)and the wordpress setting will pop up. You can adjust your file address to your domain name if you like. No need to use subdomain wordpress.
For more info you can go to wordpress.org. Join the from and ask them if you have any problem.

If you have a personal blog and not expecting payment, wordpress is the best. If you want widgets, very customized blog and expecting payment, and waiting for hundreds of audience, blogspot or yola. com is the best.

I used both and I can say that lay-outs and designs are better at wordpress but it is easier to manipulate and do things at blogspot. I also saw some blogspot sites that were highly modified and they really are great. A friend who are into web-designing also commented that it blogspot is better.
I am not sure about the earning part. I am not good at this part. After almost a year, I accumulated almost $5 only for my blogs.
