The response of that we call the inner voice. When the mind is supplicating, petitioning, its comparatively still, when you hear the inner voice, its your own voice projecting itself into that comparatively still mind. How can it be the voice of reality? a mind that is confused, ignorant, craving, demanding, petitioning, how can it be understand reality? the mind can receive reality only when its absolutely still, not demanding, not craving, not longing not asking wether for yourself, for the nation or other.. When the mind is obviously still, when desires ceases, the only reality come into being. A person who is demanding, supplicating, longing for direcr\tion will find what he seeks, but it will not be the truth. What he receive will be the response of unconcious layers of his own mind which project themselves into the concious. And another problem is concentration. I'm interested in so-called meditation, but my thought are distracted, so i fix my mind on a picture, images, or idea andexclude all other thought. This process of concentration which is exclusion is concidered to be mean of meditating, that's what you do, is it not?, you sit down to meditate, you fix your mind in a word, image, but the mind wanders all over the place. There is a constant interruption of other ideas, other thought, emotion and you try to push them away. You spent your time battling with your thought, if you can concentrate on your chosen thought on a particular object, you think you have at least succeeded in meditation. Prayer is not meditation and concentration as exclusion is not meditation.

There is no problem with prayer. Prayer always increase our motivation. It provides satisfaction to us. It is way of releasing all stress.

I believe prayer is a very important tool in our day to day lives.....it really helps us to interact with god.....but yes you should be willing to experience god....a doubting Thomas would end up nowhere....only prayer can motivate, inspire and guide you in getting things done.....i don't feel it is a problem

Prayer can be meditation if you choose a religious subject upon which to meditate. Many of the Supposed Religious People do in fact meditate this way. They choose a religious subject and then spend a set time concentrating on said subject. They enter a trancelike state where the rest of the world around them virtually disappears. This is near perfect meditation. It is as good as or better than chanting a mantra.
