Many people I know are spending lots of money on Organic foods. Does it really make a difference? Are you one of those people? I'd like to see your point of view Personally I do believe that teh FDA does need to become a bit stricter! But I don't follow that Organic food only concept.

Yes, buying organic DOES make a difference. Everything we eat or drink goes through our body. Synthetic pesticides and fertilizers sprayed on crops or animal feed eventually affects our food. Pesticides and fertilizers often run off into our water supplies, too, polluting our lakes and rivers (including the fish living there). Synthetic fertilizers are often made from ammonia, sulfur, coal, phosphate rock and nitric acid. Organic foods are grown using only natural fertilzers such as worms, manure, seaweed, and compost. Pesticides are usually made from plants that repel insects. Organic food costs more now because synthetic pesticides and fertilizers are inexpensive. I can't afford to buy all organic foods, but I'll buy what I can and I'm going to plant a small vegetable garden. I believe the price of organic foods will drop when more people prefer organic and farmers can afford to change their farming methods.

wow i agree with you! when i poste this over a eyar ago i was just graduating highschool.... now im a second eyar in college at ucla and i am studying biology focusng on ecology and man oh man! have a learned alot not so much opn how organic prodctrs affect outr health (althou i am really looking foward to elaringn more about that) but i have learned and seen how they destroy enviorments! it is truly a terrible thing that these fertilizers do to our land and when the water run off and carries those chemicals to sea they truly destroy out marine enviorment as well!~!!! totally sux!!...... anyways being a secocnd eyar in college money is a big issue so i definalteyl try to buy organic and locally but it gets very very expensive... expecially when there are other options! i just hope that when i gert a home i can have a garden in the back and grow myt own organic produce! and have some fruit trees!!! =]

no i dont buy organic the only diffrence is in thr fuit and veggies other than that there is no diffrence, with organic meat you only have 2 days to use it and if you freeze it , it will only keep in your freezer for a few weeks so whats the point , its a waste of money i think
