A friend of mine asked me. "I have 1 daughter. My husband would to have another child. He is hopping that he could have a boy.But in this economic situation, isn't it better we have 1 child but we could give the child best education." My question to you is : a. Have 1 child but you could give best education & attention OR b. Have more than 1 child but you could not give them attention and best education. Which one do you choose??? And why?

I know that life is difficult nowadays with the current economic crisis... but that won't be the case forever... good things are bound to happen if we persevere in life... I think i would like to have more children... i already have a daughter... and i would like to have two or three more... that doesn't mean we won't be able to provide them with all the luxuries or the best in life... but it means we need to work harder to give them only the best...

Life might be challenging because of the current recession but things might improve in a few years time. A ladies age can matter like if she is 25 years old she could wait but then maybe end up with a large gap between her children's ages. If she is 38 years old her biological clock is ticking and it might be a case of soon or never. I know a lady that got married in the early 1990s and bought a house. There was a bad recession in 1991. She had one baby and struggled with her finances. Then she got pregnant again and ended up with a 20 month old and a new born baby. Now her children are grown up and she is so happy with her life. It is not possible to choose a baby's gender. Your friend has a daughter and if she gets pregnant again she might have another one or a son. She might already have lots of baby equipment and so the second baby would cost her less. A baby needs love and care and some education that can be given at home when he or she is a toddler. A child doesn't begin school until 4 years old in my home country. By then the economy might be normal again.

I think I rather have two, though I could not afford the best education and attention but 1 child could be very lonely. If I'm going to die one day she could still have a partner and someone to depend on.

I can relate to you my friend. Well, I prefer one child. It is really hard to have more than one child today. You know the Global Crisis thing really is making us much more harder to earn. And I can assess my family that only one baby is good for us. We have so many obligations aside from our baby. I think one is enough. The important thing is your baby's needs.
