Yeah you read that right, my little slice of heaven is taking my hot scalding steamy showers, Why you may ask?? It's one of the quickest and fastest ways I can get some pain relief on my neck and back; I just took my second one for the day, its a rainy chilly dreary day here in Missouri and that nice hot Shower is just what I needed to get me through the rest of my day...(G)!!! I've other things I consider a little slice of heaven too, like Nature and it has to offer, the beauty of it all, my furbabies that I dearly love; What's your little slice of heaven and why??

I envy you. I wish I had a shower. Maybe not for the same reason, but I'd love to have one. I'm glad you have a method of relief. I really am. Much safer than all the meds.

Hey Girlfriend, no shower where you are now huh? That REALLY SUCKS!! is there anyway to install one of those hand held showers for the tub? they are not as forceful but still a shower??? Well I still have to take all the meds too daily...speaking of which I am needing something now, Tylenol or my stronger one...

Tried that. The faucet was too big for the thing to fit over it. Been trying to find a faucet with a diverter on the side so we can attach one that way. Right now, we've just got the copper pipe coming out of the wall because we took the faucet off entirely. Some day. If ever - after all, it's been over seven years this way already!! LOL I missed the question part of your discussion. What's MY little slice of heaven? I honestly have no idea. But, having the entire weekend to myself comes darned close. Have a good day!

My little slice of heaven would be my kitties and the love and affection they can spread with their cuddles or merely their presence. Taking a nice long bath is something that can give me pure joy aswell. Mostly the little joys in life are the ones you most enjoy :-)

I will sure do . I guess only another kitty lover would understand the value of cuddling up with your beloved pets. Off course other people might experience the same with their dogs or other pets. They can give us a sence of serenity and peace that opens up just that little bit of heaven as you described. Thank you for a wonderfull discussion, take care!

Hey Cyberfluf: That's what I like so much about mylot there are a lot of pet lover's on here both dogs and cats and other animals; My Cat screamer she waits until I get settled into bed and then she likes to wrap herself around one of my arms sticking out from the pillow or she will just get as close to me as she can to snuggle up in bed, or when I'm on the couch, she tries to distract me when I'm on the computer and when I'm on here long enough she pulls ever trick she can to get me to stop, play with her or cuddle a few minutes and then she is good for awhile; Cats are so funny!!!

I read this post just before I had my shower, but didn't respond. I waited to respond till after. I can say I thought of you in the shower, hehe. That hot water cascading down your shoulders and back does feel wonderful. I like really hot steamy showers too. I hope your weather improves, we had a beautiful spring day here in Ohio.

Hi Polly; LOL! So you waited until after your shower huh?? That's ok with me (G)!! right now I'm trying to decide if I want to take another one before my nap or after my nap; I think I'll wait until after I nap; Weather is the same today as yesterday and my wreck of a body just does not respond well to this sort of weather; We had a beautiful day here In Missouri on Friday it was just GORGEOUS!!! and then it changed (sigh)!! This mess is headed your way I'm sure...( sorry )(g)!!!

You just reminded me of one of my many. I have a paraffin spa. I got it when I was having a lot of hand and arm pain. I love using it, as it moisturizes the dry spots and relieves pain. The first time I used it, I immediately fell asleep because it gave me so much relief. I need to go turn it on, to use later on tonight.

It is a small appliance usually found in the health and beauty or pharmacy departments of places like Wal Mart. Mine cost about $35. It is loaded with a type of soft, oily paraffin that is heated. You dip your hands or feet in it building up multiple layers. Mine had plastic bags to put over the soft paraffin and then there are insulated mitts or booties that go over the bags. The heat penetrates clear into your joints, the essential oils that have been added to the paraffin soften your skin. Mine is scented with tea tree and lavender. I just know that the first time I got my hands all done up it just relaxed the pain all over and I went to sleep. I felt like it was a great investment, as beauty shops and chiropracters offices charge anywhere from $6 to $15 per hand or foot for this treatment. If you are the only one using the wax, you can just peel it off and put it back in. I have only replace the paraffin completely one time.

Hi ya GardenGerty; I think my Mother used a paraffin spa, but I don't remember that much about it, could you tell me some more?? I could use something to help me fall asleep quicker than what I do, even when I take stuff to fall asleep I lay there thinking or replaying my whole day or thinking of things I didn't get done or need to do; ARRggghhh!!!!

My little slice of heaven is curling up into bed with a book while it is raining heavily outside! These days, my little baby boy is my slice of heaven. Come to think of it, I have plenty of slices of heaven. ;) A cool slice of watermelon on a hot day, a nice movie, a chat session with a nut on the Internet, and so on and so forth. Cheers and happy Mylotting

Hello dreamweaverjan,I agree about hot showers too I find them very soothing I take a few showers a day.My slice of heaven is being by the ocean.I love being near the water and listening to the gulls screeching and listening to the water hit the rocks.I find it seems to cure a troubled mind and is very relaxing day or night.I love to sit there and dream away. Also gazing up at the stars and listening to bird song is my slice of heaven.

Hi faeryoftheshire; Oh you are very luck then to live close or near the ocean; I love water too, any kind of water, ponds, lakes, creeks, Never been to any of the oceans' flew over the Atlantic but that's it; I love the sound of water rushing over rocks or down a waterfall too, very therapeutic for my troubled mind & soul; (G)!! I've not been outside to gaze up at the stars for a long long time, but I do remember a time when I'd do that, yes that too is indeed a little slice of heaven for sure; Where I live now thank God since I moved here a month ago, I am now blessed to hear the birds of a morning when I wake up and a lot of them "rise early" just as I do too; I get to hear them sing all day and afternoon, and evening before they rest; its truly magical;!! I love it here!!

Mine would be the same thing only in bath form. I wake up all bent over, stiff and in pain, (because of arthritis), and I feel my age, almost 60. Well after a long soak in a hot tub, I feel so good I want to dance! Nothing hurts, nothing is stiff and I feel young again! That's MY little slice of heaven!

HI xbrendax: I'm so stiff of a morning I sorta roll/thrash out of bed LOL! I too suffer with arthritis, and a host of other health issues; That's wonderful that after your hot bath you feel like dancing; (G)! My Mother when she was alive used to say that very thing after her bath; Isn't it amazing at how wonderful a simple bath or shower makes us feel?? Bright Blessings to you!!!

A little piece of heaven is a hot shower for me also. But I remember after my sugary that I really did love to take a hot shower then pop a few oxycodone and lay in bed in silence and watch late night TV in peace!..That was my piece of heaven I had for 2 weeks. Since they only gave me pain medication after my surgery to last a few weeks I now like to drink my hot tea or coffee and have my hot shower then lay in bed with relaxing music playing. Why you ask? well probably because My body hurts all the time also( mostly when the weather is cold) and I have a child with Autism that wears me out and having hot showers and moments of piece and quit is a rare and wonderful thing I treasure.

HI Cassandralynn: I've been wondering about you and how you were; I meant to write and ask you this very question but I moved a month ago, and boy have things sure been hectic for me; Yes I would imagine your remedy for peace and quiet is very relaxing too, a Mom needs her space and some quiet time while she can get it; So how are you after your surgery?? I hope all is going well for you; take care now, relax when you can and I love the cat photo looking at me upside down LOL! Very cute!!

I have several. First, I like the hot shower on my shoulders and neck just like you. I also likle to spend extra time in bed on a rainy morning. I have an electric neck massager and this is heaven too as it eases away my neck strains and stresses. Bliss! I especially like it if one of the twins wanders over to my room in the night and comes into my bed for a cuddle. Excelelnt post

HI Cynthiann: Yes to have one of your kids or in your case one of the twins come into your bedroom for a cuddle is for sure a little slice of heaven; How Wonderful for you; I do bet those twins keep you busy huh? LOL!! Thanks for saying I had an excellent post, this idea to write it came to me while showering LOL!! I guess mostly because I was taking that hot shower kinda leaning my head up on the wall saying outloud, "GOD THIS FEELS SO GOOD"...so I thought I'd write about it... it is "heavenly" for me and sounds like a lot of others too out there like their hot showers and or hot baths...aaahhhhh!!!! take care my friend

HI Jugsjugs: Be careful now of falling asleep in the tub, you don't want to sink down to far and be sputtering up water...ya know? But yes taking a long soaking bath is very relaxing, until that water chills out I could never keep the water hot enough to suit me when I used to take long hot baths Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get some peace and quiet time later (G)!

Okay, this is my little slice of Heaven: Relaxing on the couch with a nailbiting horror movie on T.V. (I just love horror movies!), a large glass of Coca-Cola, a big bowl of ice cream and Hershey's chocolate syrup on it and, finally, having Mija (my furangel) curled up on the blanket next to me on the couch. When all of this is in place for me I feel like the most blessed person in the world! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

HI Acematthews71: Yeah if the weather is steamy hot, then sure those nice cool showers hit the spot too!!! Trust me I take plenty of those too in the summer heat we have a lot of humidity here in my state; Hope you are relaxing and enjoying a nice cool shower today;

Well, you and I are close with a little difference. Mine is a steaming hot bath! Water up to my neck! When I get out I look more like a lobster than a caucasian woman! LOL. But it is so relaxing to me. Other than that it would be my husband using the ped egg on my feet and trimming my toe nails.

HI cicisnana: LOL! Me too Me too!! I look like a scalded red lobster especially around my neck, shoulders and my lower back too!! Sometimes I scare myself when I look in the mirror and think HOLY CRAP! I'M SO RED!!! I'd love to do that in a tub, but this fat stiff body that ain't gonna happen (G)!! if I got down into the tub, then I might need a crane to help me get up out of the tub ...LOL!! Sad but true!! Now if it was a great big old tub with lots of room and if it had power jets in it....I might try that one out, once in awhile I do get to enjoy a hot tub at my local YMCA...I wish I could afford one here at home I'd live in the darn thing... Hey you've got your husband trained now, what a nice guy !! You might want to hang onto him (G)!!
