Yum, I have it in the oven right now and it should be done soon. I can smell it cooking and it smells very good. I normally only make turkey for Thanksgiving or other celebrations. But I found a great deal on whole turkeys so I bought two. Well I better go check on it. What are you having tonight?

MMM sounds good. Have you ever tried roasted turkey in a deep fryer. I have it taste so different. The meat falls right off and is so moist. The skin is not as good though. Enjoy your dinner Have a great evening.

My 9 year old decided that he wanted to make dinner tonight. He is just heating things up really, but he is using the oven. He is making Salisbury steak and French Fries.

We ordered pizza so it was a "no cook" night. When you make turkey do you add stuffing to it? I used to until I realized that it cooks a little faster when it isn't stuffed. About a half hour before it is done I slide in a tray of stuffing under it in the oven. When the bird is almost done I pull out the stuffing and pop it under the broiler for a couple minutes. If I come across a good price on whole chickens or turkey I always get a couple and pop them in the freezer. the only problem is when I forget to pull it out and defrost it

No I dont stuff it. I think it makes the cooking time so much longer if you stuff it. I make the stuffing seperate.

Hi moneymommy...sooooo..you finally stuffed the old man in the oven! I usually only have turkey at christmas but if its on sale, I will buy it too. Tonight we had, nothing to be honest...We ate late this afternoon and had subs, so tonight we just had some tea and toast. We are moving tomorrow so my fridge is empty. If that turkey smell comes lingering up this way, expect me at your house for dinner!

Oven baked turkey sounds great! I usually bake one every month because me and my 30 cats can live on that for about a week. I didn't get one yet this month but I will before the week is over. My spoiled cats get the best cat food around but they still want that turkey broth and some dark meat!

moneymommy, I've considered roasting a turkey lately. I usually do a turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but with the price of meat lately, roasting a turkey does make sense/cents in more ways than one. I think that if I'm going to do it, I better do it before the weather gets really hot. Who's got the best turkey recipe's for leftovers?....lol DCMerkle

I can smell your turkey, I love that smell, you better invite me and have stuffing also. I'll bring the sweet potatoes and cranberry relish. Don't forget pumpkin pie. Who says we can only eat this at Thanksgiving. Thanks

I love a good deal, you know turkey & ham are not just for the holidays ;0) I picked up a few hams this week that were marked down because they didn't sell for Easter. But that's ok we like our ham & it'll feed us for a couple meals & the kids will snack on it so it's never wasted. We had Kielbasa with corn and with hobo potatoes on the grill. Though I laugh @ hubby cause I told him it was going to rain and he didn't listen and it did for a little while.

That sounds delicious! How was it? I was lucky and actually got to eat some turkey AND ham this week. My fiancee's family made a turkey for Easter and my family made a ham. So we had leftovers all week long. I have yet to stuff and make a turkey on my own - I need to learn how to because I love turkey and stuffing. I love how it smells when it's cooking too, yum yum! My fiancee and I went to Red Lobster for dinner tonight. I had shrimp and it was delicious!

I did not have much tonight. I had a wonderful lunch at my mom´s today and then came back home for a nap. After that I was too lazy to cook so I just ate some leftover salad, some quite nice cookies I made yesterday with my grandson and I´m drinking a cup of coffee. On Monday, my eating ends. I went today to the doctor with several aches and the only thing I have is too many pounds. Bon apetit with your turkey
