Facebook users may feel socially successful in cyberspace but they are more likely to perform poorly in exams, according to new research into the academic impact of the social networking website.
The majority of students who use Facebook every day are underchieving by as much as an entire grade compared with those who shun the site.
How about your opinions?

That is possible because those children spend more time online rather than studying and doing their homework. If children will do their part as a student, they will not fail on their exams. I have been a student in the past and there is already internet and Friendster that time but I don't spend too much time on it. Too much for something is bad enough.

right now i cant really think of a connection why these results come up...and why they even interrelate the idea of using facebook and ratings in exams..
i dunno..coz if you know how to use a computer and navigate yourself online, thats pretty smart to me..but then again, even if your a computer geek, but dont really study your math or practice your grammar, how could you ever ace or even pass your math and english exams??
i dont think they are related..using facebook doesnt make you dumb, not does it lower your exam scores..but laziness does and lack of interest...
its depends on the person really...

I wonder how they come up with these studies, I think sometimes people are paid a lot of money to do studies and they tend to come up with any conclusion as most studies get over writed at some time...maybe it is because the old schooling is just that ...old...and there is a new way of getting on in life, I know i have learnt a lot from places like Facebook and here at Mylot for that matter...I have learnt more on the social networks than I ever learnt at school, maybe in these places people learn about real life rather than from books...
