Recent trend of movies

I have gone to the cinema yesterday and all the posters and trailers make me wonder. Has the world of movie recently entered an era of magic & fantasy? There are the Inkheart, Race to Witch Mountain, Harry Potter the half blood prince ...... There are the Golden Compass, Narnia series etc. It's flooded with magic!
Personally, I don't mind topics of magic & fantansy. I am a fan of Harry Potter ANd Narnia and really welcome them to be put on the screen. But now......it seems everything was related with magic and isn't it starting to be too fancy?

I havn't walked into a cinema since last summer but I'm looking forward to this years summer blockbuster movies line up but I might consider wait for the next harry potter movie and watch it on dvd/blueray won't have enough movie guft cards to watch all the movies that i'am interested in seening.
