i wonder how you people gave the vote (contreng). i prefer to tick mark on the name of legislative candidate's name instead of tick mark on the party's name. honestly i didn't even know who were they registered as legislative candidates, i avoid to tick mark the party's name since my vote will go to the candidates number 1. while i have a name in my own. at my place most of people tick marked on the party's name. how about you guys?

Well, our elections were back in November but I never check the party name. I vote for the candidate, not the party. I wouldn't be a party member at all but if I'm not, I can't vote in the primaries and help choose a candidate. I don't know why I bother, actually, I'm convinced that all our elections are fixed and the only reason we vote is to fool us into thinking we have a voice.

thx Dragon, i realized that in your country there are only 2 parties involved in the election, isn't it true? here in indonesia, there are a lot of parties involved in the election of legislative candidates, in your case it's called senator, is that right? did you give your vote last election? were you happy with the result?

i see. here the one like you is called as GOLPUT. golput is the term for people who don't use their right to vote. because they're skeptic for all of the candidates and the party's program.

I am very unhappy with the way our election turned out. I didn't like either of the candidates for president so I think I would be unhappy whoever won.

I was not giving vote for legislative election on the last April. I was overseas and my name was not registered. People like me may have difficulty to vote due to high mobility and sometimes I just don't have time to get authorization letter to vote at another region. I wonder in the future if we can vote by just showing our passport or identity card.

i did it at TPS malaysia, because I'm living here, so for us who live in overseas we will have one vote only for selected area (mine was to vote for Jakarta Selatan). So, I was thick at the party logo because I'm not really know all the candidates. I was very happy at that time because it was my first vote in my life :D Nice topic, happy mylotting!

i'm happy that you didn't miss your right to vote. there are so many controversy about the DPT (permanent list of voter). did you give your vote for the last presidential election? SBY won this. and i think people who live abroad will vote him as RI1.

The time have passed, but i want give some opinion on this, lol. There a reason why people very interesting became legislative candidated, almost all of them did not the perspective of indonesian culture, yet. The main reason why this people want to be candidate is about money. Big earn if being election is so interesting.. So, i think the trend is about change to their own life! not for other, not for us! hahaha, that's all. happy mylotting..

if that so, we shouldn't bother to elect them. since we all know that how much they will be paid from salary. it doesn't match with how much money they spent for the campaign. then what kind of money do they expect from? corruption? well. that's very bad

i feel sorry to you. but i think you should have given your vote on that day. since we don't have to give vote at the place where our id belongs. here i see my neighbours, he has other area id. but he could give vote here where he is living at the moment. so i think you should have been able to give vote too. for the presidential election i suggest you not to miss again. be proactive to ask to your Pak RT to input your name into DPT.
