Do you believe what happens in the ocean is reflective to what happens on land?

I've been watching the Today show and they are discussing how the health of our oceans are directly related to the health of us as humans? Do you believe this?

Hmm, i guess so...I've learnt geography before and it's true...That when the ocean is the dirty, maybe chemicals like oil got leaked all over the ocean, the fishes will get dirty or eat dirty or contaminated stuff...And when those fishes get caught, we're the ones that ends up eating them...And it really affects our lives, its just that we don't realize it..=\ Yea...

You are so very right! The term is called bioaccumulation. This is when poisons and pesticides work their way up through the food chain. The bad thing about it is that many of these things continue through on to our children and stay in their DNA. SO future generations are genetically scarred by what our generation is doing.
