What do you think about epic anime?

If anyone has seen epic animes like rurouni kenshin and bleach and naruto series, Then you know what I am talking about. So do you think that every anime should be an epic or do you think they should all be short? What do you like about epic animes? What do you not like about them?

I'm not into 500+ episode-series. I usually settle for the shorter 12-13 to 26 episode ones. Most shounen series tend to do fillers, and they aren't really helping the story progress. The first episodes of Naruto, One Piece, Bleach and Reborn! were enjoyable, but that's about it.
If there's a 100+ episode series I'd truly enjoy, that'd be Hajime no Ippo.

Have you seen Rurouni Kenshin? It is an epic anime but only 95 episodes. It flows well and the fillers seem like a part of the story to me. I think you would enjoy that anime.

I have seen Rurouni Kenshin 10 years ago. What makde you think I didn't? I enjoyed it until the Shishio arc, then everything went uninteresting.
I gave up on Naruto after the Chuunin exams. I still hear news about the manga though
I gave up on Bleach after Soul Society arc.
I gave up on One Piece after Skypeia.
I gave up on D.Gray Man because it wasn't faithful to the manga.
I glimpsed Reborn! and it was generic.
I don't see 'epic' anime anymore. As for reading, I'm only reading D.Gray Man.

I hate that long series are usually full of fillers. That's why I gave up on Naruto and maybe I'll do it with Bleach too. When you watch shorter series you know at least that every episode will be quality.

I personally love fillers. I don't think it effects the story in the least. It is nice to see them do somethings outside of the main story but that is just me.

I don't like long anime... even because I cannot follow them a lot. Dragonball has been going on for ages and I couldn't catch up when I lost an episode or two. I like shorter type of anime. Maybe 60 episodes maximum. It's better because you see the story beginning and ending in a short period of time. My favourite is Berusaiyu no bara and that is around 40 episodes.

Yes true the short episodes are good to see all the way but at the same time you can see the episodes you missed of an epic as well online. I kind of love both one gives you this almost day to day detail of their lives you get envolved like they are your best friends and then the other gives you an amazing story that ends.
