Which city is the capital of the world if you had to make the choice ?

hi ronnyb, i am not intelligent or well traveled enough to answer your question. im anxious to see what respones u get on this. of course i would prefer it to be in the u.s.a. it really wouldn't affect me anyway because i'm gonna" hang out in tennessee as long as i can.

This is an interesting question maybe London as it all happens there ,all the worlds financial markets and all the tourist attractions,theatre land.The Thames and all the history surrounding that.America is already where it all happens and in Washington where all the major descisions are made anyway which affect all of us.In all though we are losing our identity in England enough without losing our capital city as well.I expect many countries feel the same way,the euro.europe making all the rules for our county.Although we expect and want to join in with the world and its affairs we really don't want to think about losing anymore so London it is for me.May be Brussels in the capital already.!

If I had to choose, there wouldn't be one. As you said each city is known for a speciality.I am not G-d . The capital of the world depends on what you feel is important. To me, money, power or even fashion are not important so why should I force people to see the capital of the world through my eyes? Since there are so many choices these dayus , I would have to go back centuries to find what you asked. I would pick, since I have to, Rome before Christ.it had all the qualities you voiced all in one city without Any competiton.

I would say it would have to be London. Then maybe New York. Its a hard call, but I guess its just as well there is lots of capitals though. I would love to visit them all first also, as it would be nice to judge this personally from seeing them, than reading about them.

I would say London, I do not live in the UK. I just think that London is a good center point, between english speaking countries and countries with other languages. I feel every country has many great cities that are unique in there own way.

For us ordinary people,it is a hard choice.But that is a political matter, If all the goverments agree with the same place to be the capital of the world, even the place is Tibet ,and it will ge the nod, political matters always have no reason.

Berlin; close to many nations, centrist politics and of course in the EU all the best urban

I think the New York can be the capital of the world. As you said, it's one of the major financial and fashion cities. Many companies' headquarters locate there. And there are difference race of people live in New York. It is like a global city. So I voted for it. I love China

Well i since haven seen any conditions of the cities u named, i sure would say my city.. Bangalore in india.. Cuz i feel its doin so gr8 in my country.. Being the IT hub wit many countries including us hiring people for jobs.. The best thing here is the weather .. Its always stabilized n not many trees are chopped down to build sky scrapers like other countries.. Its a garden city wit lots of greenery.. N security i would say is so good here wit such a diverse n easy going country like ours.. M sure if given a protection like the white house, it ll be the most secure place in the world. Thou m speakin in pride of my hometown.. The facts are true n i believe so.. :)

For me, I would choose a special city,just little and beautiful,you know, the capital doesnt mean financial and fashion in my opinion, i would choose a city suitable to live, such as Kuming or Lijiang,haha,i love them. Good days. 20.04,2009,Beijing time

I would have to say the US would make a better place for the captial, Because we have more people rights than the other countrys you mentioned.Yes ,I think New York would be picked for the city for the same reason you said.Lot of countrys would have to change their way of thinking about the United States.We help out more countrys than they help us when we need them. have a good day

Many cities could be chosen for different reasons. If I could choose, I´d make a new world capital at a place where the economy needs to go up, that is, in a place where there´s no work and there´s hunger.

there is no capital of the world. because not a nation can control the whole world. but these cities you refered can be counted as regional capital

I think I would have to say New York City also. I think they are the center of the U.S. for alot of things.

You may all laugh at my reasoning but for me the choice would be Springfield, Illinois. Why? It was the home of one of the best if not the absolute best Presidents of the USA - Abraham Lincoln. He ended slavery and did his darndest to make everyone equal in the USA. We could sure use a President like him right now.

I am no one to make the choice but if I am given the opportunity then i would like to choose London!

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji, It is a purely a dream, which can never be full-filled. It is long way for all human-beings to come under one shelter and think about. Even at World's body 'VETO' pwer exists. It is simply and mere indication of difference in ideas. How all would agree to choose such a place. Further, Ido not think, that any of the places mentioned by you would be liked by all. In case, I have to choose, my home town should be choosen as world's Capital. Well, if i have to choose. Tokyo is my option. We know tokyo is one of the big cities in the world and i think this city is the best. Good technology and modern facilities. In addition, tokyo still maintain its traditional such as some traditional ceremonies and cultures. So lets move to Tokyo..

I am a USA citizen but I say London, England. The reason I say London is because they are more opened minded. The USA are still behind in the times. Why do you think different people from the USA have moved to London? Jimmy Hendrix was one who went to London & I believe if he stayed living there he would still be alive. He was a great singer. Also Sonny & Cher had to go there to get their act started for America was too uptight. And if you look at most popular rock bands, there is plenty of the great ones from London. They had a female prime minister & a queen. I believe equality for everyone. So I would say London, England. Hey I love the way they talk too, LOL!!!
