How do you feel about D.O's versus M.D's

I had never heard of a DO before until we were trying to get medical information on my stepson. I have always seen MDs and only take my children to Pediatricians. I really don't know the difference but I know it takes DOs less time in college to be able to do the same things as a MD. This means surgery as well. It kinda feel like a Vet doing surgery on a human.... they are trained yes but not quite in that area. There are good and bad in all doctors but which kind of doctor do you trust for your child? Have you seen a DO and a MD .... did you get the same type of care?
