my Internet connection is nice, but the only problem is that the ip of my net connection is dynamic, and and is connected to one ip address that is also used by alot of computers. i need a static, but its hard to make it static, since only one ip is being use, where just being given different ip numbers... when i try to download in rapidshare, it always says that my computer is download a file even i am not. i tried some free proxies using the switch proxy in firefox, and it worked, but still no luck in rapidshare. where can i get good proxies that i can use so that i can download in rapidshare?

I shall assume that you have a personal Internet connection and get a different IP address whenever you log on. If this is the case there are two alternatives though somebody else may have better suggestions.
1) Get a static IP address from your ISP. The downside is if your Internet Service Provider does provide this service it is going to cost you some money. Usually business organisations apply for static IP. Advantages include control over the IP use, and getting the same IP regardless of the time and frequency of switching on and off the connection.
2) Leave your computer on for more than 24 hours. Any 24 hour based counters will be reset. This is the path that I have chosen, with my PC being connected for several days. The IP address remains the same.
For issues related to IP address issues whatismyipaddress.com is a good place to start. This site has become my favourite on this matter.
all the best,
