I tend to forget the dreams that I have at night.I can barely recall a single dream when I wake up.Even I can't remember some nightmares which force me to wake up at night. It is usually frustrating because when I want to share it with someone I don't remember a thing. So do you have the same problems as mine?Or can you remember them???

Although I remember some, I always forgot all of them because all of them are senseless. I dunno the reason but I've been dreaming couple of dreams that are extremely weird and will never happen. Some of these are I've been returned to where I have graduated on my high school but I'm in college, they don't have college studies offer on their school but I'm dreaming that I'm going there for class as a college student,, and with my classmates on high school too.
Well thats really weird to think of.

I remember some of my dreams even if these are only parts of the everchanging and complex scenes. I almost always have a dream even if i sleep for just an hour or less. I remember a time in 1985 when i was a volunteer worker for our local YMCA and i spent a night at the center with some YMCA student members. I had a funny dream and in that dream i was laughing. I woke up literally laughing out loud with my eyes still closed and everybody turned in their beds and wondered what the big joke was!
In contrast to that i also had dreams that made me cry and i mean really cry and made my pillow wet. There were some dreams that were just so vivid i can still recall that big white swan floating on the clear blue waters complete with bright colored waterlilies! Just last week i again saw big red flowers and clusters of small purple ones, a tiny weeny yellow bird and a delicately designed balcony but not a stairway for me to climb so i was not able to stand on it! Weird!

Yup! If i could only write all the dreams that i can recall i would be writing a book, with different chapters for drama, comedy, action, horror, fantasy and the supernatural!
Oh, thanks sagnik, that's my third "best response" mark two nights in a row! I just couldn't believe this is happening! There i go again, but this time my emotions tell me this is not a dream! Thank you!!! ^_^

huh. that's Very unusual. because studies about dreams tell us that we actually have thousands of dreams per night. and you say 90percent you can recall? but if you mean you remember 5-10dreams/nightmares per night? then its really less than 1percent. but i have heard of people who have dreams that do come true. even ones who have dreamt of winning minor lottery numbers. i think you're gifted:) have you ever had a dream of someone dying though? scary thoughts :/

It should depends on your character. Active people or even hyperactive people usually forgot their last night's dream. Those people only focused on the real world. For almost people, it's hard to remember a dream generally. But people usually remember their dreams if there were nightmare on their dream. So i think it strongly depends on what kind of dream you have dreaming about.

There are dreams that I can vividly remember as I wake up and I can vividly tell my friends about it, though there are some that I can only remember a chunk of the dream and i can't even put the entire story together for there are confusing part of it that I myself wonder what had happen on the dream and at times there are dreams that i do not remember at all. I know I had a dream but the dream is totally blank. Nice discussion.

There are dreams that I can clearly remember but sometimes there are dreams that I can't recall. When I woke up at night, I have to tell my dreams to my daughter sometimes as I can still remember the whole thing, if not the following morning, I can no longer remember it. It's case to case maybe, should the dream evolve in only one particular story maybe we can remember it but when several dreams happened, perhaps that's the time we forget.

When I want to remember my dreams I think about them hard even when I'm sleeping. A lot recently my ex popped up in my dream and it sent my heart into very, very nasty palpitations. Of course, when I tend to think about them less, the dreams fade away by themselves.

I too rarely remember my dreams. I only remember them when I have had too much sleep. Then I will remember several for that nights sleep. I think it might be something to do with not getting enough sleep so you have to stay in certain cycles longer. For some reason this messes with the dream cycle. I don't remember the science of it though. Maybe someone else will fill us in.

i remember my dreams so clearly these days, after i get up.
i do want to forget what i dreamed in the dream. in fact what i dreamed in the evening is what i want to forget in the daytime. but it's so clear in the morning.
even when working, they are still in the mind.

I very rarely remember my dreams when I wake up. Once in a great while I will remember and it's usually something quite strange with people that I haven't seen or talked to in a great while. I had a dream about my best friend from high school around the new year that was so odd that I actually tracked her down just to check and see if she was doing ok (she was by the way). I've never been one to have the really cool dreams (like flying) or nightmares, I guess my dreams are generally to boring to remember.

Some dreams I can remember so I don't recall at all.
I am not sure why this is that we can remember some and not the others.
I work in a daycare and I remember having a dream about one of the children that kept giving me a hard time I kept telling him no and saying his name in the dream.
My husband thought I was crazy until I told him who the person was that it was a child in the daycare center who wouldnt listen. LOL

There are some nights where I do remember what my dreams are, and even then sometimes, I only remember them for a short time after I wake up. Usually it is the dreams that mean something to me that I end up remembering. But on most nights, I do not rememeber a single dream, I usually think I didnt even dream at all.
