they are so expensive but i have bought the tomatoes a time or two in the winter when i'd get so hungry for a good tomato. my son worked in produce at a grocery & organic food was one of the main things he was to take care of & they were so expensive they quit handling them because people weren't buying them.

There is no doubt that organic is better for you. It is as nature intended.
I have 7 acres in Tennessee with a greenhouse. I am looking into getting into organic farming and researched the subject well.
In order for organic plant matter to be truly organic, it must come from organic seed. No pesticides or herbicides. Even fertilizer must come from a certified organic animal.

They say it is more healthier and cleaner since it is not applied with pesticides and inorganic fertilizers. So they are really food grown the natural way. The price is much higher since the produce are lesser than that of the commercial ones since they are usually prone from pests attacks and the yields are not that big because of that.

I like to consume as much organic food as can, But as you said they cost more then other foods. So i started to plant my own vegetables and fruits in my yard.
I am planing to get my first tomatoes , eggplants, cucumbers and strawberries in few weeks.
And about the organic meat i guess it is possible with the organic food you feed your animal their meat will be organic,
But of course this is what i think.
Have a wonderful day!

i know its very unfair. you would think it would be cheaper as they dont have to put special things on or in them. also, no sprays etc.

Organic food is better for you. They used some chemicals some them you have to check well the labels. I grow organic and I don't use any chemicals in my garden I know what I'm eating. I became aware of the food market and there motives to make money with just the name on the labels to sell. If you can grow your own organic veggies like I do its a start in the right direction.
