why do men not wear good smelling stuff like they use to??

I agree that I like a man the smells good, but a dab will do. I actually believe that this is no longer the trend because so many people in this world suffer from allergies and perfumes irritate thses allergies. So if the man lives in a home where anyone has allergies or he has allergies then he is not going to wear cologne. It is also true that men to not shave like they did went it was habit to use preshave and aftershave. Electric razors changed some of that. Men are more aware of their skin these days to and will not want to dry it out using products that are hard on the skin like old fashioned aftershaves. Aftershave has a lighter fragrance than many colognes. Not to change the subject but as an objective I would like to know why mens colognes are not as hard on people with allergies as womens.

Yea, i don't know why, but i have a thing for men that smells great....Especially when they walk right past me, the smell just slamms into your face and it's lovely...I like that some men are taking care of their own well being, like bothering to smell good, put on nice clothes and have a neat and suitable haircut...I know some men, or boys that don't even do that, they said they don't like to...Well, it's okay if you don't want to put on colonge but at least comb the hair...haha..I hope you guys will start/continue bathing yourself in perfume for girls like me to sniff ya around....lol! ^_^

I still wear my colognes every day! It's part of my daily routine before going out, cleaning my teeth then squirting on the cologne, I have two favourites which are Joop! which the ladies like and they always comment on it, it's fruity, and CKOne which is also a favourite, they have great smells and I feel more confident when I have them on me if that makes sense? So fear not some men still smell good!

Some guys do, but if they do not shave, they probably do not. There are so many other scented grooming products, maybe they are afraid the smells will clash. Things like scented deoderants. Maybe you are just around the wrong men, except for your good smelling son.

Hello ANTIQUELADY! It's me again..hehehe.. That's what I was wondering too. Most men doesn't like to use cologne or perfume unless for special occassions. My husband always wear cologne or perfume even those ordinary days and that's the reason why I love to hug him all the time..hehe..

ha what a question for us mens., i don't know any answer to it , it is just because we like to were it alone. its also because fell free wearing it , u know its too open and airy in that outfit.well but some times in summers i don't wear them when going out because it sweats inside too much then.

I think it depends on your area. When I'm out and about there's usually a good handful of guys that smell good. Sometimes it's just the smell of their work or life sticking to them, but somehow they manage to make it smell GOOD, you know? I like my guys to smell good, xD But I think most people like their S.O.'s to smell good.

I know what you mean... my Daddy always wore cologne, and it was a pleasure just to be near him. very rarely I will pass a man at the store or bank and get a whiff of his cologne and get an urge to tag along with him in order to keep smelling it.

Yes, Lady, I like men who smell nice and refreshing. But not all men like to use cologne and prefer their musky body smell. I have trained my sons from small to use body colognes after bath. They are still using it now and they will know that they will for christmas or birthday presents from me every year. As I always present them with colognes.

workplace rules could have a part in it. i knew a few guys who stopped wearing it daily because of bans against perfumes and cologne around sensitive/allergic persons. i will say in my dad's case,i wish he'd either changed his brand or toned it down. his cologne was pretty overwhelming..

As for me, I think it is a waste of money using a cologne. My brother is a fond of perfumes and all. He likes to feel good every time and for that he use all kind of good smell things on his body. he even wants to use deodrants but we don't have enough money to buy him one. In future, when I will get a job, I will buy him everything of his liking.

There you are still thinking about the good smelling neighbor of yours...LOL..I love a man that smells good. I wish more men wore nice cologne. I don't want it to be strong...but nice...like your neighbor I bet...LOL

My husband doesn't wear aftershave but he never leaves home without spraying a little cologne. I for one can go through life without needing a bottle of perfume because i sneeze when they irritate my nose. I am glad he uses those that are appealing to my sensitive sense of smell. Before leaving his office he also never forgets to spray a little bit again and i just love to hug and kiss him as soon as he enters our door and he always smells so nice even after having perspired all day in this very warm tropical part of the world! Sometimes his shirts smell of smoke after taking a ride in public utility jeepneys but my nose always goes for the skin behind his ears! Just a while ago we were both reading the responses of everybody here and we had a great laugh just imagining you following a nice smelling man around sniffing like a little doggie! hahaha! He really was entertained! Funny how other men react differently! Hello antiquelady!

I like my men smelling good too.I think they have just got to lazy to clean up before they go out.You would think your grandson would smell good if he was covered in stick weed.lol Take it easy.

My never used perfumes and colognes before we got married. But when we got married, I bought him colognes with not so strong scents at first until he became used wearing it. Now he wear perfumes everyday and I love it. It makes him more huggable when he wears my favorite scent.

I have no idea how this discussion got by me. Now you are talking girl. I really did love to smell those good smelling men. I would even go out and buy my father the type of men cologne that I liked. Just like you just said when you would pass a good smelling man in a store or anywhere it would make your head turn to keep the smell there for a long time. And don't let one hug you some of the cologne would get on you and you could smell it for a long time. I haven't thought about this in a long time you are right, what happened to the good smelling men.

I understand your pain Antique and that is why I amd very choosy when I am selecting acologne because today what passes as cologne is barely water with flavour .Sometimes I wonder what the manufacturers were thinking when they manufactrue soem of these colones.I hope you will find a nice man with nice cologne Antique

I like men to have good smell but definitely not the gay type smell, depends what what and how much they use I guess. My hubby doesn't use any, he would probably think it is gay thing.

i still you mine i have a good sized stetson bottle of spray cologne i got for christmas. i use just a little spray of it which works fine for me any more then that just seems to be overkill. i don't like to put too much on cause it kind of kills the effect my lady loves it when i smell good. i will put some on if i will be going to a public place like a store, restaurant, etc. its always nice to try to smell good even if its just for my lady's pleasure.
