how has the recession directly affected your lives? my husband lost his job since october 2008, since that day until today, he's been applying every single day, and he's gotten no replies. i just wanted to find out if were not the only ones, and it's not JUST the news.

I have three daughters all grown and married and two of my son-in-laws have lost their jobs since the fisrt of this year. Both worked in different areas of the oil and gas industry. Both are continueing to look for work and both are considering returning to school.

wow. im sorry to hear that they lost their jobs. i guess it is a good thing that they are considering returning to school. it is a very difficult time for most of us and i think it is a smart move if they do indeed push through studying. goodluck to all of us!

Hi there!
I also lost my job but not because of the recession. My job isn't affective by it. I just took a vacation cause of the election ban last 2006 but due to unforeseen events in my family I had to stop and tend to our family business again.
The business wasn't doing very well because of the recession. Few customers, low income, less savings but continuous to spend for the rent and stocks. I had to close the shop rather than create debts.
Recession is happening all over the world. Many people has been affected. I think there is nothing we can do with it for now but just to wait what's gonna happen next and hope that it ends sooner. Good thing you joined mylot cause you can earn from here if you just try your best to work here.

i guess even though you did not get fired from the job you used to have, you would have eventually quit anyway because of the problems you had in your family business. less customers because more workers are laid off or fired from their jobs, more people not having anymore income to have the luxury to purchase anything, lesser money coming in, same monthly payments. i cannot help but wonder where does all the money go? lol. maybe where you used to work, it was not affected by the recesion but indirectly we all are affected by the recession.
good thing there's mylot right? lol. i wish we could make tons of money here. but it is just a bonus amount, not enough to buy milk for our kids. but i appreciate the time you took to reply to my question. God bless us all and i pray for your family as well as i am praying for mine and everyone else affected by this worldwide crises. take care :)

Yeah it's good that there's a site like mylot. Though the earnings won't pay the bills but at least we're doing something rather than just sit and stare and wait for things to happen.
I used to work at a construction firm. We construct projects for the government. I am still going to back I'm just waiting for for the contractor to call me. Hopefully this coming May I will start working again.
