10 cats! I still can't get over it. So many.
Like I stated in the other discussion, I use a rolled up newspaper.
But I don't hit the cat. Just the noise does the trick. I hit the table or the floor.
Some people use water sprays. My cat loves water. So for my Mitsie that won't help.
Good luck.
Take care, have a nice evening!

Sure they are useful and very cute. And adorable and loving.
Pleasant, and they know how to get attention.
And maybe if you collect all the hairs that fall all over the place, you could make a nice blanket. Hahaha!
I love my Mitsie, but those hairs are driving me crazy.
Take care, have a nice evening.

Cats are something, alright. But yes, they CAN be trained.
The hard part is staying on top of them, if you don't have the time.
The best thing that has worked for me is...purchasing a spray bottle, and filling it with water. Whenever I see any of our cats do something they continually shouldn't, I give them a little squirt. This method works best in my house. It doesn't hurt the animal in any way, and none of them like the idea of getting wet! Give it a shot. (if you don't mind the pun)

It's always worked for our cats...even our 3 swimming ones! (Yes, there ARE such breeds.) I suppose it's that sudden "shock" of being sptitzed, when they're not expecting it.

Do the cats have a possibility to be outdoors and play? That is one of the best things to calm them down and make them behave better indoors.
Cats need exercise in fresh air and when they get it, they will sleep rest of the time or sit and watch the surroundings.
I used the water spray method to train my cat to keep away from the kitchen table and he also learned not to disturb me when I was knitting. I only needed the spray bottle beside me and he avoided to come near me
If you can give away some cats to cat lovers, you will have less problems and not so many to feed - and less work too...

Well our cats do play a lot indoors or out doors they are just to many thats why they always play and break our things..
Well giving them out would definitely make my mom sad so all i can do now is use spray or if still they wont behave on this I would have to splash all of them with plenty of water.

Yes, you are right. In many cases it is too dangerous to a cat to be outdoors by itself, even if they are cautious and intelligent animals, they should not be let out in a big city with a lot of traffic.
A kitten has not enough experience and should not be let out alone anywhere, but cats learn very fast to avoid cars and other dangers.
The best place to let out cats outdoors would probably be a garden surrounded by a fence that is high enough so they stay inside...
I guess responsible cat owners find a safe way to let their cats out. Both humans and cats need fresh air...

Well I have to agree to you buenavida cats or dogs or any pets do need some of that fresh air. Well so far even if our cats will go out which they usually do on their own they will still comeback before mealtime lol

You train your cats the same way you train your kids. If you see your cats doing something bad, then stop them by either yelling loudly, squirting them with a water pistol or shaking a bottle full of pennies or nails or something that'll make a noise.

Cats are very hard to train. It all depends if they are full grown or kittens. IF they are kittens then yes it is possiable to train them. One sugestion i can give you on how to help train hem is keep a spray bottle handy full of water. If you see them doing something they shouldent be just give them a lil spray and eventaly they will learn.

yeah indeed they are to many and they are everywhere lol well your advice regarding that is ok with double sided tape and things but like mugs we cant tape it cant we well I think having them around is much better than having to deal with rats...

Spraying water at your cat will not always be effective. If the cat associates YOU with the jet aimed at it, then the bond of trust will be damaged. If the behaviour is that they are jumping up on surfaces and breaking ornaments then why not just remove the ornaments? Double sided sticky tape will stop them walking on surcaes you don't want them to use, as will tin foil.
"Training" cats is very difficult, you need to try and adjust their behaviour. 12 cats is a lot for one household, cats forced into close proximity with each other will be stressed to varying degrees. This will lead to scratching furniture, spraying, and possibly even aggression.

It's not easy to train a cat, but you can do it with kindness. A cat will not respond well to being coerced. I have seen cats trained to do tricks. The trainer was asked how he managed to get the cats to do what he wanted them to do. "With kindness and trust" he said.

Well I wish I have time for them they are just to many 10 or 12 all in all so I guess I wont have time for that If only I have 2-4 cat it would be possible to train all of them but since they are many I cant.ok then I will treat them with kindness then.

Show them you're in charge, You're 50 times bigger than them, show them you're their boss not the other way around.

yeah i am showing them I am the boss but looks to me what I am doing is wrong. I should be gentle to them I guess As the others suggest spray them at their bodies just not at their faces. Well having pets around really test your patience on things. Thats why even if this one would be a big burden to me I will have to do it lol
