With dogs its hard to tell how much pain they are actually in. So therefore when it gets to the pain we can tell they are in pain just by looking at them, you know very well it has got to be pretty bad. Therefore, knowing that you will never know if all the pain is gone in the dog, I would put the dog down. Also - if the dog is like 7-8 years old there is no reason not to put it down. Dogs on average are going to be live in be about 10-12 years old. Why make a dog suffer for a couple more years? Its not like a human that even if they go through pain for 2-3 years to get better, they might have decades left to live.

If they are really suffering, then yes. But if there was a cure, no matter how expensive, no. All opinions are welcome though!

At some point there is something that is going to be too expensive. Yes there are people obsessed enough to spend thousands of dollars on vet bills but is it really worth it if you are still going to be paying on those vet bills after the dog has passed away? For me - if its something that is going to cost me more than a couple of hundred dollars and the dog is really old, I'm not going to go do it. Because guess what - with animals you never know how well the procedure actually is. The procedure might work 90% of the time, but since your dog is so old the stress doesn't help and he still passes away.

theres no real question what a dog lover would do, I had a dog who was 7 mths old and had cancer was coughing up liquid and was very ill, same as any dog lover the only answer was to put the dog to sleep, we contemplated treatment for cancer but that would of been a different type of suffering. Theres only one route to go if your pet is in pain with no chance of recovery or standard of life then you have to take the humaine route. As keeping your pet alive is just selfish and cruel to the dog.

It would depend. I would first of all consult with a vet. The vet practice we use has several different vets and if I don't agree with an opinion I'm given, I'm not too timid to not ask for a second opinion. If the vet said that our dog or cat was suffering and there was little to no hope, I'd likely do the humane thing and have them euthanized. It's just a shame humans aren't offered the same luxury. We humans have to suffer it out until our bodies give out and shut down. It's a shame that animals are so much lower than humans in almost all areas, but if your dog has cancer with no hope of remission, you can opt to end his life before it gets bad. A human though has to suffer. How cruel is that?

In past days I feel so. I completely lost after realising his suffering level. They unable to speak but therre suffering is equivalent to suffering of human.

As hard as it would be for me to put one of my dogs to sleep, I think that it would be even harder watching one of them suffer in dying pain. I would probably take one last day and make them as comfortable as possible and spend all my time with them. Feed them people food they love and anything else that I could think of to make them happy; then I would take them and have them put down. It makes me sad even thinking about that!

Well, I acturely couldn't catch your meaning. But I could guess some kind of information, for me ,if my pets were sick and I would take care of them and make them do certian kinds of activities to get rid of their sick.

I think there are numerous factors when determining if a dog should be euthanized. First you have to consider how much pain the animal is in. Then the age of the dag, is it worth thousands of dollars to keep the dog alive for only a few more months or years? Unfortunately I’ve had to make this decision for a few cats of mine. It’s one of the most heartbreaking decisions but in the end you have to consider what is best for the animal.
