Any suggestions??...there are so many people here and from all over I thought I would ask here if anyone has any suggestions for low carb snacks and foods...My husband wants to start the Protein/low carb diet again today and so he took some celery, a salad, tuna, and a couple cheese sticks for lunch....
I want to surprise him and give him some really good choices, I have looked on line but I wanted to ask here too...
do you have any suggestions?

I assume this diet is something like the Atkins diet, which is very low carb during the first induction phase and heavy in the protein. I am currently starting Atkin's and their shakes (especially the Mocha Latte) are really great! Also, you can visit www.atkins.com for a loads of FREE low carb recipes and snack ideas.
One of the things I use for snack on my diet is cheese; today I ate some black olives and sharp cheddar cheese for a really yummy low carb snack. Also, celery sticks with homemade dressing (use olive oil) as well as devilled eggs are really good low carb snacks. If all else fails, try various store bought low carb protein bars or shakes until your husband is satisfied with the flavor and variety of his new diet.

thank you for such great ideas....my husband is forever going on the protein/atkins diet and every time he does I always get stumped on what to put together for him, he always wants me to do it as well but I have a lot less to lose than he does. It wouldnt be beneficial for me to do when I only have 5 or 6 lbs to lose. I do better when just watch my calories.
Have a great day!!

You can always make sugar free gelatin. I buy the Royal brand because it's half the price of Jell-O. If he wants to get more protein with it, he can add up to two scoops of protein powder to it. Just don't mix it with a blender or you will have foam galore. Other low carb snacks - pork rinds, jerky as long as it doesn't have a lot of sugar added to it, peanuts and almonds. All of those are great sources of protein too and the almonds are a natural antioxidant.
