Do you participate, or make anything and sell them in craft shows?? I use to know some ladies who I dont see anymore make little boxes and sell them at craft shows. I dont see them much anymore so I dont know if they still do... Craft shows are very big here and they advertise alot and you have to get on a waiting list to have a table set up at one for almost a year... they are about to start up again....so I was wondering if anyone here participates or makes things that go into them?

i haven't been to one in years! i used to make wreaths a long time ago and i thought about doing craft shows but having to mass-produce them took the fun out of it. every summer we would go to wildwood and the kids and i would collect shells. we would bring them home and i would make wreaths out of them. they were really pretty. i haven't done that in years!!

Wildwood!!! We were just down in Cape May last week (and my hubby spent many of his childhood summers kicking around in north Wildwood. There were so many shells on the beach in Cape May...just in case you get the itch to make your wreaths again

Yes I do. I try to do a handful of shows in the spring/summer and again in late fall and the holiday season.(I also have a couple of shops online where I sell my handmade items) For many of the big shows, there is a waiting list. Some of these shows are also "juried shows", which are shows where you need to supply many pictures of your items and the show organizers need to approve you for the show. I make handmade jewelry, specializing in handmade sea glass jewelry. For the winter months, I also make scarves and scarf & hat sets for younger children. I wish I could do more shows than I do, but having a full-time J-O-B prevents me from doing a lot of shows. The amount of preparation involved in getting ready for the show is very time consuming and sometimes, all I want to do after a long day at work is come home and relax.... then I end up spending a lot of late nights at my crafting table the week before the show finishing up projects and building up inventory. Despite the work, they are a lot of fun : ) If you decide to give shows a try this year, best of luck (and I hope you share how the show went for you!)

I think that is great that you get that involved every year and that you sell the stuff online too....that is nice to hear. I have ideas of things to make, but I havent put them to use yet.... but I think I would really enjoy it if I did. thanks for the response, and keep up the good work!!! I will definitely share my adventure if I try it!!! LOL

I used to but not anymore. I had a craft business for about 8 yrs and sold both wholesale and retail. I had someone I did craft shows with for awhile , but they were not my best way to make money. It got so much where the booth rent and the expenses and the hassle of it was just not something I wanted to deal with. Good luck with yours! What type of things do you make??
