Has anyone ever won a large lottery that was $1,000 or more? I just started playing for the first time about 2 months ago and I feel I do pretty good for a beginner...but what I win is just jump change. It took me a long time to get up the nerve to play my first game and now it's kind of fun, as long as I don't go overboard with it.
A friend of mine told me that when I play the lottery just think of it as entertainment; like going out to the movies or something. You will probably spend about $20 for the movie and snacks and when the movie is over you don't expect to get your money back. Think of playing the lottery as the same thing. Play for fun and if you happen to win, then think of it as icing on the cake to a wonderful evening!
I thought it was good advice in my opinion...

My dad buys the powerball every week. It's only $1, so I don't think it's a huge deal. It would be nice if he actually won sometime. .
I don't know ANYONE who has won more than a grand, but my dad's best friend won $500 from the lottery - not necessarily a million dollars, but a pretty big payout for spending $1 on the ticket. . I think I would be excited if I won $10.
