What can you buy with $10 payout from mylot?

The value of the US$10 payout from mylot differs depending on where you stay and the living standard in your country. US$10 = S$15 not a lot of money in my country. It is just enough to pay for 3 square meals a day. Breakfast in the morning at the coffee shop costs $2 (coffee, 2 half-boiled eggs, butter and kaya toasts) Lunch at the coffeeshop in the shopping mall costs $4 for the fish porridge, $1.20 for the cup of coffee and $1 for fruit Chicken rice set for dinner at the coffeeshop in the shopping mall costs about $6. That's about the end of the S$15.

Agree that making the extra money from surfing the net is good. Since we will surf the internet regularly, much better to earn money from it than no money. Just an advice to you, type at least 5 to 7 sentences whenever you make a comment. The system in mylot is very funny. Mylot does not reward people to post one line or 2 lines. You can post 100 very short comments and earn only 2 cents. So it's best to post longer comments and earn more. It's not difficult to earn 35 cents a day and got payout every month.

Hello fren!!! How are you? Well this is the interesting discussion and I am very much eager to answer. Like I have said to you in another thread started by you, that 10$ is worth Nepalese Rs 800. And I also said that this can be my pocket money for the month hehe.... Ok I will explain how, here... My main expenditure is for the meal in the college break. Mostly I spend 20-25 Rs per day. That means about 30-35 cents. With this I can have stomach full or chowmein(long noodles), or samosa or momo. Also the coffee costs no more than 10 cents. So if I have 25 days college a month, then the expenditure in this would be 950 cents. That makes it 10 dollars. So the earning of mylot can be my money for the tiffin break in my college. My other expenditures doesn't go 10 dollars a month... He he, we can drink 12 cups of coffee with 1.2$ hehe...So friend, hehe....come to Nepal you will be reach lol...hehe don't mind...Feels like to joke with you a lot in this matter ever since the previous discussion hehe.... Ok fren, this much for now and keep mylotting...see you again and again...

Hi Nzal, sorry for the late reply to your post. I didn't notice that you had added another comment. I live in Singapore, and our neighboring countries are Malaysia and Indonesia, so I know something about these two countries. I get to know about Nepal, about Annapurna, Chitwan National Park, and other regions in Nepal a few years ago. That was before the Crown Prince killed the whoile family. We intended to travel there, and hiked in the Annapurna region. Too bad the Crown Prince spoilt our plan. Till now, we have not step into Nepal, hopefully the Maoists and whatever political problem is resolved peacefully.

Hi Nzal, no wonder you feel very rich with $10 in mylot. I think I can consider living in Nepal after retirement. Surprising to hear that coffee is so cheap in Nepal, it costs even lesser than our a packet of our 3-in-1 instant coffee powder. No wonder those hikers go to Nepal and gain weight instead. I do hope to visit Nepal and walk the Annapuna area.

Hi Zulfah, which part of Indonesia are you staying? Certain parts of Indonesia have quite high standard of living. You can earn more than $10 per day, but you must have good writing skills. There are many writing sites in the Internet which pays well. If you have photographs to upload, you can also earn money, but not as fast as writing articles. You can sign up for Associated Content and upload your photographs. The money will come slowly, even slower than mylot, but then, once your articles or photographs are up there for people to see, you can earn for many months.

Hi Zulfah, please check your email. I have sent over to you. By the way, please add "writing", "writer", "Associated Content", "Helium" to your interest lists. Many writers share their writing experiences and earnings there. I learnt a lot from them and am still learning. All the best to your attempt to earn more money online.

Hi Molter, US$10 is as much as a day salary for the office worker in smaller towns in China, and you just want to use all the money just to buy a computer fan? How much is cost of the fan? I doubt a computer fan costs more than RMB 20. Some people use their office computers when they at work, and only access their home computer for a couple of hours at night, so there is no need to buy a computer fan, or let the computers rest.

In fact a computer is about RMB 40 or even more.I am a student and I can have more than 10 hours a day online. So do you think I should use it buy a computer fan?

Hi bearound, I think the US$10 can buy you a lot of books in China. Everytime I go to China, I must buy many books back home. It's very cheap to buy Chinese books, and will help me spend many fruitful hours. If you are talking about English books, there are many free ebooks for updowning, and cheaper version of paperbacks in ebook format. You can try Project Gutenberg (old books with copyrights expired, for free reading) or lulu.com (can buy paperback or download the books at lesser cost).

The $10 Mylot payout is around Php480.00 in our country. That's a good money which can buy for food for a small family that will last for a week. I am serious about this. In country, it is worth earning $10 here and adding additional earnings from other sites. It can even make me pay half of my broadband bill. The $10 is good enough than not earning at all.

Hi Doris, glad to hear that you are able to stretch every dollar to feed your family. I think when you are able to earn $100 to $200 a month, you can pay for all your day to day expenses and your children education. Many ladies from your country work in Singapore, taking care of household duties and looking after children and aged folks, they are able to earn enough to buy land and build house for their families. Admire their spirits! I never have the courage to leave home and work so hard in other country. That's why I admire those who work abroad to provide for their families.

Hi. It not only depend on the part of the world you are living in but also the kind of lifestyle that you enjoy. $10 = 470 INR. For 50% of Indian people who lives below poverty line, it is much more then what they spend on their meal for the whole family for the whole day, but in the same country for people like me it is nothing more then one time meal or snacks.

Hi Coolmail, the fact that you can access internet means you are living in a big city. I can't imagine those people living far out in the countryside accessing email and have reasonably good command of English. I met many Indian workers from my course of work. Beside "ok", they do not understand anything else in English. I agree that US$10 is a lot for them. It is about the daily rate for them working in Singapore. If they work overtime, they can probably earn US$20 per day.

Well if you are here in the Philippines $10 is a big money. You can already have a meal for the whole day in an ordinary restaurant. But, if you are located on another country I don't know if how much is the conversion of a US dollar.
@scheng1 (24649)

Hi Kaguvkov, I think US$10 is a lot of money, especially those people living in the remote villages. Think it is enough to feed a family of four for a day or two, especially if they cook. The currency conversion fluctates. Recently the Sing dollars appreciate, so US$10 becomes a lesser amount when convert to Sing dollars.

Kyle, you really do plan your meal! Do you cook chicken porridge often? The chicken quartered legs can last very long if you have chicken porridge for lunch everyday. Welcome to mylot and hope you reach payout next month. Please remember to post comment longer than 5 sentences. Mylot pays higher for longer comments than for shorter one-liner.

I just leave my Mylot earnings in my paypal. I use it for when I go out with the kids. I would not waste the time and the charge just to pull out ten dollars. Ten dollars in the US can go very far if you use it wisely. Everyone here is having sales as no one is really spending money because of the economy. I do not even think that ten dollars would pay for three meals a day here in the US unless you buy off the dollar menu. So just use your money wisely and no matter how much you have it can go a long way. Happy Mylotting

You can't really buy much with ten bucks but it adds up after a while. If you made 10 dollars every week from my lot that is forty dollars a month and 480 dollar a year. That's quite a bit of money. Now, what can you do with 480 dollars? I agree with you but every penny counts in this economic crisis.

Hi Blion, you are ambitious! Most of us are happy with earning $10 every month from mylot. I guess if you manage to do a few of the high paying tasks, and have a few active referrals, upload a lot of pictures and make a lot longer posts, you can reach $40 every month. I have seen some mylotters making comment as long as an article. Some of them repost their short stories. But those are the ones with more than 500 posts, so they are able to cut and paste. Hope you earn $40 per month and share with us

Hi Pheneovine, that's a great idea to spend the $10 from mylot. It's true that spending parents' money on game doesn't sound that great. But spending your earned income makes you feel happy, and independent. At least you can enjoy from mylot, where you earn money, and your game, where you spend money

Look like you have plans for all the $10 that you will receive from mylot. It's worth to use it to buy books from ebay. $10 can last quite long if you buy ebooks with resale rights. $10 every month is equal to $120 per year, not a small sum if you take a longer term view.

It depends on what you want to buy. Ten dollars in the United States, you can buy lots of stuff. Today I bought a metro card worth $10. Now that gives me five rides through the subway station. But since inflation is here and the MTA is raising its fares, I would get less rides in June. If you earn ten dollars in another country, it's probably worth more over there and you can probably buy more stuff depend on the rate of exchange. I wonder what will i buy if i ever reach ten dollars. I'm here for spare time.

Hi Mzj, reaching $10 is not difficult at all, Keep on postings longer post, more than 5 sentences long, and upload more photos. Most of us do not have active referrals to help jack up the earnings. Some mylotters are able to earn $5 from doing a few tasks in mylot. It seems like the subway ride cost much more in US than in Singapore. Over here, our system is distanced based, and $15 can pay for a lot of trips, especially the shorter ones.

Equivalent of $10 here is around 470.00 php and that's enough for me to survive within a day.. I'll try to save it in my paypal account and will withdraw it on my personal savings accounts once I needed to.. I'm nearing my payout by the way.. I can't wait.. lol

At this time of them month, many of us are working (posting) hard to reach payout. I am still more than 3 dollars away from the minimum payout. If you keep all the money in your paypal and withdraw only for Christmas, I think you can buy a lot of gifts for your friends, and some chocolate and cakes for yourself.

hihi...i am a from the same hometown as you, singapore!! =) =) yep indeed S$15 is really quite insignificant in singapore.. considering the high standard of living and those inflation, not forgetting GST.. $15 can really get us no where.. but i will just treat is as an extra income and a bonus =)

Hi Flowerday, ours is not the most expensive place to live yet. Those who stay in UK has much lesser value when converting to pounds. And the VAT (similar to our GST) is much higher than us. The newspaper says that government wants to let Singapore Dollar depreciates, so I'm holding the money in paypal first, wait till a better exchange rate, then transfer to bank account.

Welcome to mylot and happy postings. Just an advise to newbie, write longer post not lesser than 5 sentences long. Short one-liner post doesn't earn, it's the longer post that will help you earn $10 each and every month.

According to an online currency converter, it's worth £6.80 right now - but I think paypal's converter is a bit lower than that. I am a student and dont have much money so any little help is good! I earn vouchers from a good few places online and some actual cash money too from some places... all these little amounts get put to one side and when my regular money runs out, it's my back up fund! I cook, eat and can live pretty frugally compared to my peers here in the UK, and I could stretch £6.80 to buy more than you may think!

You do live in an expensive country. The value of $10 is even lesser for you. Have you earned any money from writing? Many students do upload their academic works to writing site. I upload some of the works I did in college to Helium and Associated Content. One article is about retrenchment, which happens to be a popular topic now, and that article is earning money from both writing site.
