The latest of that singing sensation Susan Boyle of the Britain's Got Talent show is now being upstaged....by a 12 year old named Shaheen Jafargholi....here's his audition for the show... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVU4IkzMNIo (Warning: NOT a referral link but to a YouTube video) Okay..yes, I was wowed by this very young, talented singer. But was THIS FAIR? Simon stopped Shaheen's initial first song and asked him if that was all he could do...and was allowed to sing a different song...that song that gave the female judge Amanda gooseflesh...NOT FAIR...NOT FAIR...NOT FAIR I NEVER remember a contestant allowed a second chance while auditioning...did Susan Boyle have to? SHE DIDN'T NEED TO I'm sorry but if Susan Boyle doesn't win...what a crock then this show is giving a second chance to someone when it's just NOT done. This Shaheen Jafargholi is only 12 years old...he has PLENTY of time to make his presence known. I'm still rooting for Susan Boyle...what say you? Do you think it was unfair for this kid to get a second chance???? Boooo....Hissssss..UNFAIR

I too am rooting for Susan - she is amazing and beautiful. But you know - even if she doesn't win, she will never lack for work. Disney at the very least wll want to hire her. It is unfair especially since Simon never gives second chances.

He's amazing though. Adorable. What was wrong with the first one?

Simon gave him the sweetest smile and eye twinkle when he said that one song may change his life. I'm still pulling for susan

I really didn't see anything wrong with the first song either. Still hoping Susan Boyle wins though since as I see it, this kid has plenty of years to "make" it

Galena said that it looked staged and I must admit it looked that way to me too. It is not usual for Simon to do that; it appeared as if he had heard the kid before and decided that the first song didn't do him justice. Uhmmm...Don't know...Other people have not been given that chance. Shaheen is brilliant there's no doubt about that but as you say, he's only 12 and with a talent like that he has plenty of time to make it in the business. I am inclined to still root for Susan, she gave me gooseflesh!

Are the judges "allowed" to hear or see the contestants before? That wouldn't seem right either, since then the judges wouldn't have made the faces they did when Susan Boyle first came in

Of course the judges are not allowed to see the contestants beforehand at least I think not! What Simon did seemed a little funny though, we'll never know I guess.

I do NOT agree with you at all. If this was part of the actual competition it would be unfair but this is only the auditions for the show! I do not know how many time I have seen people start over in our talent shows during the auditions. I think the kid was amazingly talent and I even like him better than Susan... FAIR, FAIR, FAIR... Hurrah!

Mmm..I still maintain UNFAIR....Why? I was IN the show biz...I did auditions for shows in my younger years.... I was NEVER given a second chance and neither were any other auditioners. One sank or swam according to that ONE chance audition of a song or monologue from a play..and one dreaded that "Don't call us we'll call you line"---and of course we never did...hear the call

and I still maintain you are wrong. I have also been associated with show business for many years and I do know for a fact if a person is being AUDITIONED and they show talent they are OFTEN asked to do it again or try something else.

to be honest, I think that was set up for the cameras. I mean, the first bit of the audition was only mediocre, not bad. so I can't see he would have stopped someone if that was the real audition. I think they set it up, for some strange reason. I think Flawless have a good chance of winning. it's not a one horse race, by any means.

now I think of it, there's lots of occasions when they've spotted that an auditioner had a good voice, but picked a song that didn't suit, so asked them to do another. I mean what's best for the show. saying, well, I think you're good but you chose badly so that's it all over, and letting a talent slip through the net, or asking people who have the good voice to try a better suited song.

It did look rather "staged"---I've never seen Simon stop an audition to give someone another chance--as good as the kid was though, Susan still seems to be people's favorite...like yikes she has 66 million "hits" on her audition video versus 1 million with this kid so far

I agree absolutely on this, Pye! I'm not in the UK, so only saw Susan Boyle on the news the other night - but she was marvellous, and a great, gutsy lady. The young lad had his chance, and should have been judged on the song he first picked. I hate the way children often get through because of the 'cute' factor, and this lad has many years to hone his craft. They get the 'granny' vote - so I'm hoping this time, Susan wins through! Hurray for Susan - yay yay yay!

It was only the auditions NOT the actual competion so it is perfectly fair.

Hi pyewacket. It's good to see that you are so passionate about this. I think that Susan Boyle has the voice of an angel, but this kid is also really good. I guess the judges have all the say in this - fair or not. But don't you think that everyone should get a second chance in life for whatever reason? By the way, I like your profile - pics and all. Used to have some of them myself.

It's just there are plenty of the contestants on that show that seem to start off on the wrong foot so to say, and they never get a second chance to audition with a better song.

While I do not have television a friend told me about Susan Boyle and I downloaded the youtube video (with my very excruciatingly slow dial up connection) and was WOWed! not because of her uniqueness but by her moving voice. I was glad to have taken the time to view the video and would almost want television so that I could watch her again. As far as the kid getting a do over "That Jus Ain' Right"

Hello Sweetheart I don't think it will matter a bit. The world has made a spot in their hearts for Susan and she will be and is famous. Nothing Simon or anyone can do will stop her now...We are all too interested! She will have her star and it will shine brightly. I'll buy that dvd when she makes it!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

They give second chances on American Idol during auditions all the time.

I've actually heard them do that here in the US version. They liked the voice, but didn't think the chosen song demonstrated it well enough, so they asked if there was another one. That person moved on to the next level. I don't think it's entirely unprecedented, but it isn't the norm.

The kid is better than good, he is better than good but he does not hold a candle to Susan Boyle. That woman is amazing. The kid will end up singing lead in a boy band (like the world needs another one) but Susan will bowl over the rest of the world that has already gone through puberty. I watched that video three times before I could do anything else. I enjoyed the kid, he is adorable but he did not bowl me over like Susan.

Wow pye, that boy can sing too! But I do agree with you, it's not fair but one thing you have to look at, at least she was exposed to the airwaves and hopefully IF she doesn't win and even if she does, she'll be picked up by someone and make money off of that wonderful voice of hers. If someone doesn't pick her up, then there's something wrong with our society for sure!

I think she will win but in this case, I'm guessing Simon saw something and that song wasn't it. Maybe it's OK to give a child a second chance that you wouldn't give an adult. I'm kind of on the fence about that one...

Hi pye, Yes he is fantastic singer and yes he has goe his whole ahead of him so I am still rooting for Susan and hope she does win but even if she doesent win, she is already famous and most likely have her own CDs out on sale so I will deffinatly buy it, godd luck Susan Boyle. Bright Blessings. Tamara

Hi Pyewacket. I don't know if it was unfair or not but that kid definitely has talent and will have a bright future ahead of him.I think it was his because of his young age and Simon seen the talent there to give him a second chance. I do think Susan Boyle is still the one to watch though. This competition is going to be a good one

He has a fantastic voice and such a wonderful smile. Such a heart breaker! I am unsure whether to say if it's unfair or not. He has enormous talent and so does Susan Boyle. Susan is already the moral winner of this competition, not just because of her talent, but because everyone was jeering her when she showed up and she amazed them all. With regards to the boy... well, if he doesn't win either, he will sure get big opportunities to succeed in his singing career. I say good luck to them both. Maybe Shaheen has an age advantage but thanks to Britain's got talent, the world got to know about two fantastic singers. So... will just see what happens
