Yes I take them to charity shops so others can have the opportunity to buy cheaper clothes and a charity benefits from the money.

One person's junk could be another one's treasure. Sure, it is a great sentence. Thanks for your response.

If I wanted to earn some money then I would auction them at ebay, that way I can get back some of my money to buy new clothes hehe then whatever is left after a few months of selling online, I would probably give to charity. No use keeping them with me if i don't intend to wear them anymore.

I just took a bag of just such clothing to our local charity thrift shop yesterday. I had to make room in my closet because two friends had had passed some of their clothing down to me. My unwanted clothing had to go to the thrift shop because I still have the same problem that I had when I was a child and outgrown clothing was passed down from the older cousins to younger, smaller ones. Although I was the oldest, my younger cousins were larger. I didn't get any hand-me-downs until I was in my teens and my aunts started getting fat. There was still a problem, though. Only one of my mother's 7 sisters ever gave me anything appropriate for a teenager. That was the next to the youngest sister who worked in her husband's office and could afford to buy better clothes.

When I was a small kid, my cousin always gave her clothes to me. I guess no one threw them away later. No one donate them either. But these clothes still disappear. It weird no one can find them anymore. I can't imagine where they are.
Take care!

I buy a lot of my clothes second had at Goodwill or Salvation Army thrift store and I frequently wear them out so they go in the garbage. Some I get too fat to wear, I seem to gain a pound or two a year, not a great deal, but over time it all adds up.
The ones I cannot wear anymore and are still good I recycle to Goodwill or Salvation Army. I had some suits I will never wear again and I had gained too much weight to ever fit in them again and they were perfectly good so I donated them.
That reminds me I have a bunch of sweaters I have not worn for years that I need to purge to make some room in my closet.

I have a little sister, so I give my clothes to her. I've got clothes that fit me quite terribly, and when she puts them on they look oh-so-perfect. When all else fails, we have them shipped to the country for people there to wear.

Oh, I get it! You guys all do a great job. I have asked the question to my countrymen, few people know what they should do.

I am a strong believer in recycling, I recycle everything I can and that is also true of clothes, I either give them to my cousin who is not as well off as I am and appreciates the clothes I give him as they are his size too. Or I will bag them up and give them to charity so that they can earn some money to worthy causes, I have a shop near me that I give donations too and they are very grateful, it's my way of helping out, I am sure others will benefit from my contributions and for me it makes space too!

You are very kind.
I am sort of a weak believer in recycling. However, I recycle something I can and that is true of food, I either give them to a cat who is not as well off as I am and appreciates the cate I give it as they are...oops... not my size. Or I will bag them up and give them to other cats who live far far away so that their stomaches can earn something to worthy causes, I don't have a shop near me that I give donations and it was a great pity. I was so sorry I didn't make the best of the old things. I am not sure the cats will benefit from my contributions since sometimes I may mess it up.
Best wishes!

Normally, I give them to Goodwill, and sometimes organizations like Prevent Blindness, Habitat for Humanity, and Vietnam Vets. The last three charities I mentioned usually call and ask if we have anything to donate. I plan to have a yard sale in a month or so, so hopefully I can sell some of my clothes. But I haven't had a yard sale in over a decade. I just prefer normally to give them away. Any clothes left from the yard sale, I'll drop off at my local Goodwill store.

Hey there, Ms Pose123! You do a great thing! It is a shame that no one has thought of this before in my town. If there were some local charity shops...

i dont, i think that is always my problem, i dont like throwing away clothes or throwing away things that i know i can use it someday. so if you ask me i dont know how to deal with it har har har. my wife just slowly discharging it. giving the others to people who she knows can need it. but if i will handle it myself then it will just be in boxes and eating up space har har har

Hey hiddenwing! By the time that I do throw out my old clothes
they are pretty warn out. If they weren't I would give them
to some charity. It is a shame to just throw out old clothes
that are not worn out. Someone somewhere can use those old
clothes that you don't want anymore! The clothes that I do
throw out have holes in them and are stretched out or are
so badly worn out that I would be embarrassed to even give
them away. But if your clothes are still able to be worn then
please give them to some charity so some needy person can
get some use out of them.

I will try to find wether there are some charity shops. If there isn't any nearby, I don't mind post them.
I guess it is a pretty good idea! We still make the best use of the clothes we don't feel like wearing. Each man has his hobbyhorse. It doesn't mean that others won't like them!

Stuffed in my closest that is what I do with mine. I need to get rid of some of them I just hate to part with my old clothes. I talked to one of my sisters the other day and she was telling me that she has just cleaned out her closet. She said she was going to give hers to an organization the help people in shelters. I need to do the same thing. One day I am going to make up my mind and get to it.

So far as I am concerned, few people wear others' clothes anyway. Maybe I just don't know it!
