Why There is No Peace in the World

People often ask this question as if it were a mystery. The fact is, it's no mystery at all. The reason there is no peace in this world is, many people just plain don't want it.
A community is only as peaceful as the least peaceful among them. For example, when I lived in Idaho it was pretty peaceful. Yes, there was crime, but violent crime was pretty much unheard of. Where I live now, it's not quite as peaceful, but close. I can still walk around my neighborhood at all hours of the night without giving it a second thought. When my kids were in high school, we lived 4 miles away. They often chose to walk home, and niether they nor we worried about whether they would make it home safely.
On the other hand, I worked in neighborhoods that were far different. Violence was a way of life in those places. To come home late was literally risking life and limb. Families kept the lights off at night, or used "black out lights" as if there was a war on... well, I shouldn't say "as if" because there are wars raging in those neighborhoods.
Anytime anyone decides to try to "clean up" these neighborhoods, they meet with nothing but opposition. Not just from the criminal element in the neighborhoods, but from the very city council members who are supposed to be representing those communities at city hall.
We talk about peace, but do we look to the peaceful places in our nations and states as role models of peace? No! We make fun of the peaceful and "family friendly" places.
While there are places where peace is sacrificed for power and money, most of us are more shallow than that.. we're willing to sacrifice peace for entertainment and excitement.

for a few reasons, because there are people who think everyone should think, belife and have the same faith as them. and when someone is different or have different likes and all then them, they get upset and want to fight.
then more richer people wants to keep getting richer from the poor people. gredd plays a big role in this as well and does hate

thank you, i tell my dad this all the time. but if you look at things in life, there is so many who worries about the dumbest things in this world.
such as gay people getting married, myself who cares.. more important things to worry about, if two guys or two women wants to get married who cares.
then there are those who worry about oh they arent cathic or this or that. who cares..
there are people that are dying every day, kids being kindnap and killed. people who's going without because of greedy rich people. the way the market is, to me is because of gred. and people have to go out and steal from others to make it by.
and they are worry about gay marriages, and other stuipd things.. i tell people all the time, so much more to worry about then silly stuff..

But see, that's part of the problem. You say "who cares", well, what do you tell people who do care.. that they shouldn't? Also, you say "who cares", which means that you don't care if the law is changed or not, right? Or do you mean, you think the laws should be changed to allow it.. which doesn't mean "who cares", but "you care" ;~D

There is no peace in the world because most people cannot live by "Love is the Law, Love under Will". People, for the most part, are selfish and cannot seem to give Agape love to all around them. Perhaps if more people lived Agape love we might actually see more peace. I said it in another post, but this is why I've been drawn to Thelema as of late, and reading the writings of Crowley has really opened up my eyes, and all I can do now is shake my head.

You are really using "Love" and Aleister Crowley in the same breath! :~D

Yes, we'll leave it at that, but you see where the very mention of some names can lead away from peace... fair or not.

Yes, I am. Perhaps you are not familiar with Thelema. I'll leave it alone. Namaste-Anora
